Overall Satisfaction with Brightmine
I use Brightmine for advice notes and guidance - both to check my own thinking and to produce quick, succinct, user friendly guidance for those who consult me. I use the templates as a foundation for templates and processes that I am implementing. The system serves to "double check" my thinking, keep me up to date on developments and take the heavy lifting out of document production.
Pros
- Guidance notes
- Template documents
- News up dates
Cons
- Education specific advice would be great - so taking into account green and burgundy book rules/stpcd
- I don't have this data. Sorry. I just know, from my previous life as an employment lawyer, that writing a policy from scratch can take a significant number of hours and there's a risk that "googled" documents are incorrect etc. Your templates take the heavy lifting out of the task, so the time can be more valuably spent on tailoring the document (language, tone etc) to really fit our business.
I am confident in the advice that I get from the system because of the incredible lawyers and practitioners who are responsible for their creation. To instruct a solicitor is costly, but its also really time consuming and sometimes, you only want to double check your thinking, which is a five minute "thing". As nice as it is, I don't need the niceties of a meeting with a legal adviser, I just want a quick check.
PLC is a great tool for the qualified lawyer/legal advisor and I really rate the product. In this role, I am providing far more basic employment law advice and so the pitch of the guidance and manager guides is perfect for me to cut and paste/share/easily tailor for those that I work with. The template documents are also generally pitched in a more personable tone/less officious tone - even those with a firm message, which is good for maintaining constructive employee relations
