Overall Satisfaction with Zix Email Encryption (ZixEncrypt)
We use Zix's cloud product to secure and encrypt our email. It is used for all mail within our organization. We needed a way to easily securely manage email, that did not require significant intervention by staff. We also needed a product that worked in healthcare - included and maintained the lexicon that was required to remain compliant in healthcare. Last, we are moving the O365 and found that the Microsoft offering did not have all of the functionality that we had with ZIx.
- Works with on-prem Exchange and Exchange in the cloud
- Requires minimal training to staff for use
- Automatic trust with other companies using the Zix product which is prevalent in healthcare
- For the cloud model, allow on-prem admins additional functionality in the console
- GUI console needs to be updated
- Confidence that we are HIPAA compliant with email
- Quick adoption in the organization
- Change from on-prem to cloud impacted our budget as we did not expect a significant increase when changing models
Key factors were functionality, number of partners already using Zix and ease of use. We were surprised at the number of Zix to Zix customer messages and the intervention that would be required by our users if we were to switch. In regard to Office 365 they provide the ability to build the lexicon, but it is incumbent on the organization to ensure that it's populated and the rule sets are correct. Zix provided this functionality as part of their offering.
