Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Zocdoc is a predatory company who engages in unethical billing practices! They do get referrals for providers, just not the right ones. I received referrals for primary care and psychiatry as a therapist. I was still charged for the referrals. In fact, if someone booked and didn't establish care, I was charged for that as well. They are asking for $1500, half of which I shouldn't owe. When I asked them for a payment plan they gave me two options. The first is that I pay a fee large installments to pay off the debt. The second is that I have two months to pay the entire balance in full or they will turn me into collections. They are absolutely terrible people! Would not recommend to anyone whether client or provider. You'll end up owing more than what you gain financially. it is not at all worth it.

Pros

They send referrals for the wrong type of provider.
They are inflexible in setting up a payment plans.
They charge for referrals providers cannot see.
They charge our referrals that never book an appointment with you.
They refused to accept accountability and will instead take their heels in on what their pricing policy is, rather than discuss how unethical it is.

Cons

Consider a flat fee as part of the pricing structure rather than charging by individual referrals.
Do not charge providers for referrals they cannot use.
Consider a more streamlined process to get people to the right services rather than waste everyone's time sending them to the wrong provider.
Given that they don't care who they send you and for what reason, they are clearly in it for the money and the only ones making money in this transaction.

Return on Investment

I have lost money utilizing Zocdoc.
Even though they claim their calendars sync with Google, they frequently booked over me, which upset clients I attempted to work with.
When confronted with their unethical behavior, they basically have it "It sucks to be you" attitude.

Usability

if there was a rating of zero this is what I would give him. Perhaps -10? as I mentioned they are great at getting your referrals, just the wrong ones. There is no extremely process for getting the right client to the right provider. Their calendar sink does not work so they will book over the top of you frequently. They refused to work with you on a reasonable payment plan.

Alternatives Considered

I can't select it, but I do use psychology today. They charge a flat fee and allow you to list your profile and information on their website. I have gained many referrals from them for 1/8 of the price.

If was a zero on the scale I would choose. if Zocdoc charged a flat fee monthly for a referrals that would make more sense. Otherwise they are the only ones benefiting from the service. They are a total scam! do not utilize them as a referral source unless you want to lose money! Zocdoc is completely OK with tacking on innocuous and inaccurate charges. Further, they refuse to work with you on paying it. as it stands, I will be filing a complaint with a Better Business Bureau. Zocdoc has been accused of violating the anti kickback law put into place to stop such predator practice. Given that soft dock is a corporation and they have hired a team of lawyers to speak legally used to squeeze their way out of taking responsibility. They know what they're doing is wrong. They just don't care.
