Overall Satisfaction with Zoho Creator

I have elevated and improved business and laboratory workflows to the cloud using Zoho Creator. For example, we had an inventory system siloed in three different departments. Now we have one system in Zoho Creator that drives the whole process . In another instance, we had an ill defined analytical request system without a transparent workflow. I created a well defined and totally transparent workflow using Zoho Creator so everybody knows where their requests stand in priority and when the results are available. Additionally, the app was duplicated and is now also used at our Chinese affiliate. Finally we had a need for tracking time on projects. I deployed a time tracking tool that is now used in 6 countries by over 70 users.
  • Prototype a form and database in under 5 minutes
  • Automation of business workflows
  • Easily import or export large databases
  • Create a dashboard of graphs and charts that update in realtime
  • Programmatic manipulations of large databases often run into usage limits for Deluge Statements
  • Limited GUI customizations but they are working on that
  • It's often hard to identify where some code is generating a bug
  • The Zoho team is constantly updating the platform capabilities: this may cause instability in current applications
  • Increased employee efficiency
  • Reduction of redundant inventory items
  • Better project management
Lower cost and easier implementation. I had been creating "cloud" solutions using active server pages (ASP) with a MS Access directory back-end before Zoho Creator. I did not want the worry of maintaining a server and required an easier way to build database forms. I was one of the very first users of Zoho Creator soon after it launched and have not really considered other options since around 2006.
It's well suited for medium-sized databases and a smaller team of users interacting with the data. It's perfect to encode business workflows. I would not recommend it for document storage and retrieval scenarios. Global accessibility is totally reasonable.
