Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We wanted an easy-to-use system for small conference groups. Zoom Rooms was chosen because it gave a stable platform and still gave us more options for the hardware in the room and would be seamless to work with larger Zoom meetings and webinars

remote control of Zoom Rooms for host to control without being present for 'senior managers' to be supported remotely.

Return on Investment

Great value for money as used it more than planned after installation.
Finding the use of screen share and whiteboards is becoming very popular and meant we wanted a larger screen for this. ;-)

Usability

I don't see anything that matches this product's features. However, the quality of the experience can be influenced by the quality of the equipment you use. We have upgraded the hardware rather than starting with a new dedicated device.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Teams Rooms

The biggest issue is video quality. Microsoft can reduce video quality, but I don't always see why it does this. Zoom will be at the quality of your account unless there is a significant bandwidth problem. If the quality issue ends, the video quality improves again.
Microsoft often has control and rights issues regarding Microsoft infrastructure and user permissions. Zoom, being separate from other usage, is easier to hand over control.

I just love the way Zoom Rooms work quickly, unlike other platforms that refuse to connect with hardware without reason. Zoom Rooms pick up devices and work quickly and easily. It is often hard to tell you are not in a normal Zoom meeting. I was concerned about how to move from a single-person device to a multi-user room and Zoom Rooms made it very easy to do and I have even taken the equipment 'on the road' for club meetings and it all worked perfectly.
