Overall Satisfaction with Zoom Workplace
We use Zoom Workplace for the majority of our higher education online meetings. We can do internal meetings, vendor meetings, academic advising, webinars, and classes via Zoom Rooms. It is easy to incorporate into Google Workspace to schedule or join meetings. I like that there is a waiting room option where the host can admit attendees for extra security.
During COVID we were even able to use it to do remote helpdesk support!

Pros
- share screen
- waiting room
- Zoom Rooms
- remote control permissions
- integration with Google Workspace
Cons
- the virtual backgrounds can make user look odd
- I do not like the new caption feature being on by default
- easier to schedule meetings
- online classes
- less in person interaction (both positive and negative!)
My understanding is that we would need to upgrade this feature in Google Workspace, so there was not a significant cost savings. We felt that the meeting recordings and webinar as well as Zoom Room features in Zoom Workspace made it the better choice for us.
