I've used BambooHR in the past, and this is really the only software I can compare to 15Five. I really wasn't impressed. It feels very old-school, very clunky.

I believe if your managers can't make time to have in-person or live check-ins with their employees, the 15Five surveys and tools can create a semblance of care and follow-up, but many employees resent how impersonal it is. If you are able to have more face-to-face interactions or Zoom one-on-ones, those are almost always better-received by employees.

Maestro is great for managing my membership and is terrific with reservations. At this time I am not sure if there is any scenario where it is less appropriate. I guess it doesn't work well as an interface for a golf shop, for tee times, etc. And, any golf product we get doesn't speak well with Maestro, so maybe golf. But, they may have a solution for that too.

Pros
15Five
  • The Pulse Check feature is both easy to use and allows staff and management to gauge how team health is.
  • The metric and key performance tools are very well designed.
  • Automated reminders and reporting are great features.
  • I find the customer services to be best in class.

  • Easy progress reports using a type of "mail merge" built in template
  • Reports tab is a nice feature
  • Seems fairly stable and reliable

Cons
15Five
  • The more business units and teams you adopt consistently using 15five, the more you see the full value.
  • Reporting - it would be helpful to see an entire org chart breakdown of the goals hit/missed at the end of each quarter.
  • Recommendations - focus points/alerts on OKRs that aren't progressing and auto-generated action items you should take would be really useful functionality.

  • Guest Names - I do have some difficulty with guest names. Many people want two names on their member profile. When I use Schmoe, Joe And Jane, it capitalizes the A in and. If I use the ampersand I have issues with the name processing. So, just one primary member and no ampersand.
  • Creating New Folios - For some reason it is very easy to create a new folio under a member account and you have to finish creating it before you can back out of it. I have done that a few times but not a huge deal.
  • Access Levels - Is there an easy to follow list of access levels and what they include? I guess I should ask Maestro this. Maybe not an issue...

This program is the absolute best I've ever used in 30 years with organizations. Not only do I enjoy being a user and "filling it out" every week- but I would personally buy it if available for goal tracking in my personal life I love it that much!

Maestro is what we are comfortable with and probably what we'll stay with, but it can be slow at times and lacks certain functionalities

Usability
15Five
It's very simple to use - not overly complicated. You wouldn't need training to use. There are some features I never use because I don't understand -- like one on ones. However we use without and still find a lot of value in it!

Support Rating
15Five
15Five support is quick and helpful. We work with other vendors in the people management space and performance tracking/management who offshore their support or force us into long queues to chat for support and it just doesn't support our needs very well. 15Five is responsive and speedy. We constantly evaluate our vendors for their support and have switched vendors in the past in other areas because of limited support capabilities

I love Maestro support! They are always available or get back to you quickly. The employees that work at Maestro must get treated well because they are always positive and patient on the phone with me. And, even though I am not great with technology they always help me find a solution.

Very helpful webinar training. They answer questions, the slides are all very helpful, and they send you the presentation once the webinar is complete so that you can share with your team.

Visually 15Five blows Yammer out of the water! Yammer was easy to use as well, but it felt very difficult to get on to and was not single sign-on when we were using it. 15Five allows for easy login with single sing on feature and has less "clicks" to get to where I need to be on the program. I also love the app way more than Yammer!

Maestro is the first lodging software I have reviewed. I do not have much other experience with lodging software so I am unable to compare. I do really like that Maestro has the support we need in an ever challenging customer service world. Thanks for being a great tool for our resort!

Return on Investment
15Five
  • It holds each employee to a certain standard by having them select their own list
  • Gives them the opportunity to reach their list of goals
  • Being able to accomplish each set goal and/or priority gives a sense of pride in each person's work as they are able to check off what has been done
  • On the negative, it can also show what the employee is not being done and may show poorly if there is a consistent pattern of not completing tasks

  • Maestro allows me to log all communication with families, eliminating any question as to when I reached out
  • Maestro is a huge time saver with sending progress reports
  • Maestro lacks customization that would make teachers more efficient
