Very slow and not intuitive; it would be my last choice for version control systems. The UI is a little confusing at times and seems a little outdated. It needs a lot of improvement. It is suited for small projects and fewer number of projects. But if there are huge projects and many projects to be maintained in a portfolio, its a little hard to manage.

Bamboo

Bamboo is suited for Continuous Deployment and Continuous Integration. Adding scripts to run your automated tests (regression, integration, API, etc.) helps you deliver higher quality releases. All these are great, but make no mistake, you still need to write all scripts and tests. Bamboo will make your life easier by managing the builds, numbers, source code versions (from Bitbucket) and the relationships between them.

Pros

AccuRev

  • Creation of streams & workspaces are easy.
  • Easy integration with other bug tracking or tasking tools like JIRA.
  • File comparison and history is possible.
  • Project creation and setup is easy.

Bamboo

  • It does perfectly well what is it supposed to do, build code on a centralized server.
  • The super power of Bamboo is being part of the Atlassian suite. With the right integration, pushing code to Bitbucket would trigger a build by Bamboo, send the results in Hipchat and update tickets in JIRA. It is pure magic.
  • You can run automated tests on any new code you build.

Cons

AccuRev

  • Very hard or confusing process when compared to other version control tools like TFS /GIT etc.
  • More features would be definitely helpful. The UI seems a little outdated when compared to many modern tools
  • Very slow tool.

Bamboo

  • They could improve their pricing model for smaller teams
  • They can focus on mobile applications
  • The build plans seem to fail quite frequently. This occurs for no apparent reason. If it fails once, we will attempt to deploy again. Usually, after 2-3 times it will work.

Alternatives Considered

AccuRev

Git is one obvious alternative. However, Git is leveraging the command line and has minimal interface. Developer must be acclimated with command line in order to use Git.

Bamboo

Bamboo is hands-down the best of these options if you rely on other products of Atlassian origin. Bamboo is not just built for teams, but teams-of-teams and teams of many workers. It has the administrative features you need to manage and maintain CI at scale. Enterprise model is for access control, management, and support.
