Appointlet
Appointlet is a fantastic tool. It allows you to easily send a link to people to book meetings with you. I put it in my email signature so my clients know they can book a meeting with me anytime they need to. It eliminates the "when can you meet" back and forth emails, and is an incredible tool.

This is great for Operations people who need to parse through many calendars at once when scheduling meetings, even if the rest of the organization isn't using it. Clockwise does not allow you to put meetings on other people's calendars, though, or find times for meetings that you aren't in, so keep that in mind. It has still been a life-saver for me. Clockwise isn't great for scheduling client meetings due to the fact that it automatically places emojis in the names of the meetings, and there are other little branding things that are impossible to remove even on paid plans. I tended to just find time for the meetings in Clockwise and then move back to Google Calendar to schedule them

I think it's appropriate for everyone that meets with customers, meets with people within their businesses. I even put my personal calendar on my work calendar. I'm just looking at it every day, so I think everyone could use it.

Cons
Appointlet
  • They don't seem to have a default schedule available ,meaning you have to customize your availability for each meeting
  • I'm unsure if they offer time zone support when you are the one travelling (ie. can you easily change your time zone if you are going away)
  • Reminder emails are only sent out if you purchase their premium plan

  • Sometimes I am unable to remove the "travel time" slot booked on my calendar for offsite meetings. It's a bit glitchy and reappears after deleting.

Google
  • The booking page is really helpful for external people who want to chat with me, but so few people use it, that it makes it more frustrating. The solution exists but nobody is using it. It needs to be highlighted more
  • You have to switch between email accounts or set up additional calendars to schedule work events vs personal events
  • integrations with other calendars don't update quickly, so sometimes a coworkers vacation doesn't show up in the calendar until much later

Clockwise
It doesn't have a dark mode, which is not fun. There is no Month or Year view which isn't great, only day or week. It's hard to get used to and the flexible meetings aren't as intuitive as they claim to be/should be. This is great for scheduling, but in terms of functioning as a calendar, it's not my go-to choice. The JOIN button for the upcoming virtual meeting is nice, though. Clockwise would have gotten a nine if I could schedule meetings on other people's calendars or remove my availability from the equation when scheduling meetings that I won't be in

The platform itself is pretty user friendly even if you don't have a technical background. You can easily schedule meetings, block out focus time, update your time off, and add meeting notes. The settings are easily mapped out in terms of functionality and if you need help you can easily search for an answer on Google search

Clockwise has additional features/bells and whistles that the others do not. For example, the travel time feature if you are booking meetings that you need to drive to and from. Also booking across teams, rather than having to enter each individual manually

Most of the other services we would use don't have the same integration with other Google services that Google Calendar has. The ability to view and set things from your email is very convenient. So is the ability to have your notifications automatically show up on an Android phone as a reminder.

Return on Investment
Appointlet
  • It has saved me hours of time going back and forth to try and get a meeting scheduled
  • I don't charge through Appointlet but tack meetings onto client invoices. The ease for them being able to book has upped the number of client meetings I have.
