Overall Satisfaction with Google Calendar

I use it to stay on top of my tasks, schedule meetings with teammates, and see when my team is in meetings so I can know when to send messages vs when not to. I also like the easy integration with Google Meet and Slack to stay on top of all communications in one tool suite.

Pros

  • Integration with Google meet for easy meetings.
  • Integration with Slack to let my teammates know when I’m on a meeting when they message me.
  • Having visibility into all teammates calendars even outside of my direct team.

Cons

  • Make it easier to subscribe to other calendars on mobile
  • Recaps of my week and what kind of meetings I need to prepare for
  • Automatically record my meetings
  • more efficient meetings with the notes feature
  • more productive with blocked focus time
  • healthy communication by sending messages outside of teammate's meeting times
The platform itself is pretty user friendly even if you don't have a technical background. You can easily schedule meetings, block out focus time, update your time off, and add meeting notes. The settings are easily mapped out in terms of functionality and if you need help you can easily search for an answer on Google search.
The user interface of Microsoft feels a lot more outdated than Google. I don't think it's as user friendly and it's not intuitive. I find myself needing to search up where to find things a lot more often than Google Calendar. I like that Google calendar easily integrates with Slack whereas Microsoft pairs with Teams which is also a poor user interface.

Yes

I like how interactive Google Calendar is especially with colors and different types of events. It helps me color code my own tasks but also my teammates’ schedules to know when the best times are to collaborate with them. I also like that holidays are automatically synced so I know what I can look forward to.
