FileBound vs. PagerDuty

Filebound is great for documents that have been archived or not needed on a day to day basis. It serves it purpose as a storage/filing system to digitize any previous "hard copy" filing system. But for the day to day accessibility, I find other programs to be more responsive and quicker to use. Also, In order to use or edit any document uploaded to Filebound, you currently have to re-download the document onto your computer to edit. If the editing capabilities were streamlined for quicker response that would also be a plus.

From our point of view, PagerDuty is best suited for high priority accounts in collections. For instance, if a priority customer's account fails multiple accounts, notification is already sent by PagerDuty in order to notify us... so we don't have to worry much, as it ensures cases are addressed quickly and prevents any further delays.

• Filebound is easily to upload documents onto and file into the proper location. You can easily find a file on your computer and have it uploaded within seconds
• Filebound gives you customization so you can create your own folders, criteria needed to file and search for uploaded documents. You have options of file types, names, certain fields of information to display when searching for files.
• Filebound allows you to download and print your saved documents quickly for future access. There is no limit to how you can use your scanned documents

• Alerting notifications is its best attribute; it will continue to make contact until the alert is acknowledged by a user.
• The calendar view provides valuable information regarding who is on call by the team and their full contact information.
• The application also lets you initiate a tech bridge meeting instantly and notifies all on-call users.

• Searching for Documents. Filebound does not allow you to look in differing file types for a specific document. You have to search each file type individually. And we have found that spaces or symbols are needed in front of the entered search information in order for Filebound to do a more broad search.
• You cannot move uploaded around, if you have more than one scan in a file. Once they are uploaded into a location, you cannot move it, you can only delete it and re-scan it into the proper file.
• If it was possible to simply drag and drop a file into Filebound to start the upload process, that would save time.

• When I open PagerDuty the page does look a little cluttered or busy.
• It would be nice to go to the page with clear and straightforward instructions on what I must address.

• Add a timer and alarms for tasks that need completed.

They have been rock solid for us thus far and are not very expensive and to be honest no time to evaluate other software at this point.

The UI is more complex than I would like. Part of the challenge is that most users use PagerDuty infrequently; I don't remember how I changed a policy last time. Another part of the challenge is that some users expect alerting to be a trivial feature, and are reluctant to invest any time in reading the documentation.

PagerDuty is reliable and easy to set up. It gives an effective way to notify the team about critical incidents which results in a faster turnaround time on issues. users can customize their alerts rules based on their preferences. Overall it's effective and easy to use which adds great business value.

When I setup notifications to PD thru the Python API I was impressed with the ease with which I could set up the software/service.

I have not use the 2 technologies for as long as I have used PagerDuty but in my opinion PagerDuty makes things a lot easier. The other tools got the job done and got alerts out but PagerDuty just seemed to make the setup for on-call alert schedules and integrations easier than the others. This isn't to say the others are difficult, just that PagerDuty was slightly better. I also have noticed that more tools have options to integrate to PagerDuty over the other tools.
