Likelihood to Recommend Codeware Compress is a very powerful ASME design tool. It is very intuitive and easy to learn. Anyone engaged in ASME related design projects will greatly benefit from investing in this software. It has tools for all types of ASME code products (pressure vessels, heat exchangers & boilers). Codeware is always improving the software. New features are included in almost all new releases. Their customer support is also great. They are quick to respond to questions. The web portal has great support tools. The ability to export the ASME design into 3D CAD formats is a huge time saver. The software can also be very handy for other types of non-ASME tank design work as well. For instance, you can use it to explore leg support structures for elevated tank designs.
Read full review I would recommend Teamcenter if you are constantly working with multiple teams and need one central space to gather all the information that is reunited in these teams, it makes everything so much easier and will help you enhance your abilities. If you need to visualize 2D or 3D lifecycles, Teamcenter is also for you.
Read full review Pros Codeware Compress has a great user interface and is a very robust ASME design tool. Compress has a very well built 3D CAD export interface module that works well with SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor. Codeware has a great user support network. Read full review Data Management: your Parts divided into Item Types. Data Management: You can easily add pseudo folders to segregate data inside. You don't have to look for anything now. Change Management: Use the built-in or customize it. Now, you have workflows and can decide who is responsible for every task. It's done automatically. Project Management - built-in MS Project, can manage tasks and still have a Gantt chart from it. CAD integration - a lot of time saved when single source of true. Read full review Cons Add more CAD functionality to create custom support structures and support brackets (clips, ect..) Partner with a major CAD platform (such as Autodesk, SolidWorks) for an "In CAD" solution. Which would allow quick customization of the ASME design model without leaving the native CAD environment. Read full review For the new users, Teamcenter seems to be quite overwhelming and it is quite difficult for any newly joined person to learn it quickly. Teamcenter can work on proving a user friendly interface and detailed training modules. Sometimes, Teamcenter has lagging issues which interrupts the productivity of entire team. It works too slow sometimes, but with the new release of Teamcenter, they are improving on this issue. Teamcenter should also simplify the release workflow for releasing any part. Currently, it is too complex. Read full review Likelihood to Renew Because of our current customer needs, we will most likely maintain use of Siemens PLM products for some time. Aside from the initial software cost, we pay for yearly maintenance. Maintaining our yearly maintenance licensing with Siemens, we receive access to all of the latest software releases, as well as premier technical support
Read full review Usability As previously mentioned, due to the intense amount of features and modules present in the software, the usability of the software suffers greatly. Many of the features are not used in our context, and many of the modules are not purchased, but the options are still present on the interface leading to a lot of clutter, much of which is never used. The interfaces suffer from a lack of design and tend to feel like a conglomerate of Windows 98 elements.

Read full review Easier to use. Connectivity to third-party products is much better with Teamcenter. Siemens products are connected to Teamcenter very easily. Product support is much better. CAD and CAM data are much better connected. Easy to use search in classification information of the products. All modules, like Classification, my Teamcenter, structure manager, etc., are very well connected.

Increase the productivity of the team and allow time to brainstorm ideas. Workflow management allows correct process flows. The dashboard gives great insights into my flows and flows I'm part of and their status.
Read full review Return on Investment Codeware Compress is a huge part of our ability to design and release pressure vessels quickly. It has greatly reduced our engineering design cycle. We have built standards that allow us to release designs to fabrication in hours instead of days. The ability to export the 3D CAD files makes quick work of developing quotes and proposals. Codeware Compress greatly reduces the chances of errors related to meeting ASME code compliance. The software developers keep the software in sync with the current editions of the ASME code. That allows users to focus more time on the design aspects of the project and less time worrying about the actual nuts and bolts of the extensive ASME code rules. Read full review Definitely, it has a very positive impact so to speak. What we are trying to do through our program, we are utilizing the full capacity of Teamcenter to produce one structure in an effective way. So before we implement this activity, the user has to prepare 10 to 15 structures to reach to our best possible data that can be set across the systems. But now with the complete capability of Teamcenter, we are able to do all these things into one structure itself and then let the system do all the automation or the things that users do not have to concentrate on. All of the automations are done behind the systems and then it is improving not only the efficiency of the end user, but also making a standardized way in order to proceed and transfer the data holistically towards other systems like SAP.
