CrowdStrike Falcon is ideal for large, cloud-native enterprises that prioritize advanced behavioral detection and have a mature SOC to manage their intelligence. However, its cloud-reliant architecture makes it a poor fit for air-gapped or offline networks. Additionally, small organizations with limited staffing may find it difficult to manage, while teams that require integrated SOAR and vulnerability management might be discouraged by the need for additional licensing to unlock those capabilities.
I do think it'll absolutely fit everyone who codes integrates with another platform or services. We all forget that one credentials one in a while, and especially those who managed public repository, it is important to keep an eye on accidentally committed credentials. While I think you don't really needs it for personal project, it's a nice to have, you don't want to waie up to 50k USD of sudden surcharge on resources you don't use.
GitGuardian monitors every public or private GitHub commit ( that have GitGuardian installed) and event in real-time for secrets and sensitive data. In a leak scenario it immediately notifies us.
It uses sophisticated pattern matching techniques to detect credentials that cannot be strictly defined with a distinctive pattern (like unprefixed credentials)

Improved user interface: It would be beneficial to have a more intuitive and user-friendly interface for Internal Monitoring on GitGuardian. This would make it easier for users to quickly access the data they need and understand the results of their scans.
Automated alerts: It would be helpful to have automated alerts when certain conditions are met, such as when a scan reveals sensitive data or when a new repository is created. This would help users stay informed and take action in a timely manner.
More detailed reports: Currently, Internal Monitoring reports are limited in terms of the depth of information they provide. It would be useful to have more detailed reports that include additional metrics, such as the number of repositories scanned and the types of sensitive data found.
Faster scan times: Scan times can be slow at times, making it difficult to stay on top of changes in repositories quickly. It would be beneficial to have faster scan times so that users can take action quickly when needed.
Crowdstrike has a large suite of tools built for helping the engineers triage and respond to security event whenever identified. The ability to customize the security policies and implement more granular policies to different devices based on the functionality is unmatched. Crowdstrike provides so much of ability in a decent budget which ascertains the value for money or ROI.
I think it is a complete and very trustful XDR platform, with very few False Positives. It is very well supported by highly skilled professionals on all levels: from pre-sales engineers, Customer Account Managers and support engineers.
Any time we need to engage the Crowdstrike Falcon Complete Team, their response is switch, thorough, and they are sure to not close out any request until the customer confirms that they have provided an acceptable resolution. If I ever need anything from the account team related to the product, I also get a response from them within minutes typically to address my question. Top notch customer service!
There is limited amount of learning that can be completed in an in-person training available. In my opinion, the self-paced learning provided by Falcon portal is more useful over in-person training. The support from Falcon is great and useful to overcome difficulties, if any.
The training provided by Crowdstrike Falcon is complete in terms of the depth of technical knowledge and teaches the users about going through with the platform. There are lots of jargons for different tools that Crowdstrike Falcon has and this training teaches them all which helps in managing the platform better. Plus, the regular knowledge checks are also very helpful for the end user.
It stacks on top. We love the ease of use, the third-party integration, having AI, and the CrowdStrike team was way more helpful with our team, so that adoption was within a couple of months. We also compared prices, and the value was higher, with a faster ROI, which helps our finance department start the project promptly.
I've evaluated quite a few other tools, like git-secrets, Git-leaks, scan, and maybe a few more. They're all great but quite surprisingly none of them detected Github OAuth Secrets for us. A lot of the FOSS tools out there focus on much simpler, generic secrets, which is good in itself but with GitGuardian, it was dead simple from day one. I just connected our Github Account and set up the gg-shield cli and that was all.
