Deltek Project Information Management vs. Oracle Aconex

We liked the automation associated with filing e-mails. The ability to search within the body of documents within the platform was also a great feature and very powerful. Unfortunately, the program often hung up and didn't work and we were not aware that it was not functioning until several days went by. As far as the document management piece of the program, our staff found it very clumsy and burdensome. That resulted in them not using the system the way it was intended.

For outstanding project managing and operational assistance, Oracle Aconex is an incredible program. The budget that suits every project are met and followed. More so, Oracle Aconex takes the permits required, for instance, the insurance permit and the license tracking. The contractor management feature is also encoded on Oracle Aconex, making the investor and the contractor have the same objective.

We're delighted with Oracle Aconex's functionality, UX, capabilities, and feature offerings. The only thing that keeps us from giving it a perfect 10/10 is the price. There are other options out there that won't burn as deep of a hole in your pocket, but then again, you get what you pay for.

When we purchased Deltek PIM we were told that it integrated well with Deltek Vision; however; once we implemented the program we found out that it was only a one-way flow of information. Also Deltek kept turning off various functionality within the program that would have allowed for better integration between the programs

Oracle Aconex seems to be tailored for our specific needs since it supports construction project information and all related type of data. It is secure and compliant which makes it crucial for real-time collaboration and control of job site processes. Other platforms that we have evaluated are still well designed, but much more generic which is not favourable for our engineering projects.
