If you often get lead lists for import, large databases, a lot of users manipulating data regularly, then this is very necessary. Otherwise, I wouldn't see a huge need. I will say that we have found more cost effective apps that have a little more what we need as far as customization and more features.
It is good hardware/software to do VMWare backup, very reliable and convenient device. Hyper-V backup may be less appropriate to do due to specific software needs.
User friendly & easy to navigate. I don't have a lot of time to learn brand new processes, so the ease of dupecatcher saved me a lot of time that I would normally spend hours doing manual work, merging duplicates.
"Ignore" some apps don't allow you to ignore dupes, as some may know this is absolutely necessary sometimes.
Alerts that notify SF users when they are creating duplicates.
Support from Quantum was okay, they performed FW upgrade and replaced few faulty disks without any problem. Some old-style connections and requirements from them produced additional loads on our IT team.
We had DupeCatcher first, but did demo a few other similar products and decided to go with a different product due to the fact that they had a lot more features, customization, and excellent customer service.
The only aleternative looked at prior to the DXi was ExGrid, while both are great options the DXi offered a little more versatility and the support has been terrific.
Any tool that can catch duplicates is something almost any CRM using company needs. So obviously this will always have a positive impact on a company.
I wouldn't say we had a negative impact but we were able to find tools that did what DupeCatcher does and them some with a higher price tag, but you get a lot more features, and in my opinion what you would want/need/expect out of a dupe catcher.
