EPM Live vs. Orangescrum

I think EPM Live might be the right solution for a much smaller company, who does mainly business to business material sales. As a software company with a ramped subscription model and heavy use of Salesforce, it was not well suited to our business.

This is a good thing for medium/large companies for inside the company and/or for interacting with remote employees/freelancers. As the program facilitates the interaction between employees and managers it speeds up the distribution of tasks and allows managers to identify possible problems on the fly. For indie developers - it's a little expensive.

• Fantastic project management features
• Cost and Resource management features more than paid for the software
• Social Collaboration tools improve communication between departments

• We tested the free version of the program. It improved communication within the team.
• Allowed to trace performance and time spent on tasks. Each team member was aware of the status of the tasks and could plan their work.
• Simplified interaction with managers, as it could present the results in the form of Gantt charts.

• This is a solid product. I do not have any suggested changes based on our experience. Cannot understand why there are any negative reviews here. The reviewer(s) must not have given the product a fair chance.

• The program interface is overloaded. Especially when there is little time for a detailed description of the tasks.
• I would like a faster way to publish the result at the completion of the task.
• Projects and tasks are two different workspaces/pages. Personally, it would be more convenient to combine these things.

The product is just not fitting our needs so we are looking at other alternatives. The system has gone down 3 times in the last 6 months and was down for at least half a day, timesheets have duplicate tasks, and it takes too long to save and submit. When trying to process updates it randomly changes our dates so we have to go back and fix them, sometimes tasks are lost and the system is just very confusing and hard to manipulate

EPM was easier to use, with better and simpler UI. The product was also a great combination of price and functionality compared to other tools

Trello was excellent, but we did not choose it because of the price and relatively positive feedback from employees using Orangescrum who wanted the easiest and fastest way to create reports so as not to be distracted from work (as a two-click report).

• We had to pay EPM for a solution that was, for our business, unusable
• We gained much needed experience in working with third party software vendors

• It accelerated the work of the team, but the mastering of the program interface was slow.
• The interface is not intuitive. It proved to be quite complicated.
• For managers, the program has facilitated reporting and streamlined team tracking.
