ExpenseNet vs. Journyx vs. TimeCamp

ExpenseNet is well suited to a large organization with many travelers or purchasing cards holders. It allows the entire expense reporting process to be done electronically. For employees who are not based on site or not based at the same site as their manager and accounting, it really streamlines the process compared to having paper or even e-mailed expense reports. The wholly electronic process also enables easier reporting and auditing. ExpenseNet would likely be less appropriate for small organizations with few travelers.

Users cannot update their own time sheet if mistakes are made or things change after submitting. The time sheet must be rejected by the reviewer before the user can update the time sheet. It would be much better for the user to be able to update the time sheet and resubmit, barring approval, instead of the upfront action of the reviewer rejecting the time sheet.

TimeCamp is comparable to all other time tracking apps. It predominantly depends on your specific use case and if the UX works for you if TimeCamp will be a good fit. Personally, I found the software not super intuitive and I think that was a big turn off.

• TimeCamp does what it is made to do and it does it very well. It allows multiple levels of billing rates and does a great job tracking.
• TImeCamp does take a little bit of time to set up, but that is no different than any other tool. The interface is easily understandable so the configuration goes pretty quickly.

• Overall the look and feel is dated and the navigation is clunky. Even employees who travel a lot will only go into the system once a month to do their expense report. A more user-friendly interface would take some of the chore out of it.
• The feature to take a picture of a receipt and then e-mail it to your ExpenseNet account is great, but it does not always work, which can be frustrating to redo
• It would be handy if just as the charges from the corporate card are imported, the statement could be as well. This would eliminate the need for the employee to go into their corporate card account to download and save the statement and then attach it in ExpenseNet.
• It is senseless that once you add a receipt to the queue, you cannot delete it until after you have submitted the given report. Sometimes, a duplicate receipt will be loaded or a receipt will be loaded in error. To have to work around it in the queue is rather annoying.

• Leave management ability can be improved to offer more functions and reporting.
• Administration function of adding new clients can be difficult and time consuming.
• Maybe at times too much customization. It is difficult to administrate all the activities and tasks if we have future changes.

• TimeCamp is a little bit expensive. It needs overall improvement in all tools. Moreover, the mobile version is not as useful as the web version of TimeCamp.
• Other than that, customer service needs more attention and requires more improvement.
• Also, I feel like that if there are more features of TimeCamp then it would be better.

I am giving support a rating of 8 but that is quite arbitrary. Honestly, we have never had the need to contact support for any reason. There has not been a situation where we became stuck and could not figure out how to work through it. Sign up was easy and billing is like clockwork so there has been no need to contact billing support. I think this is a testament to the ease of use of TimeCamp.
