FileHold Document Management vs. Sonian (discontinued)

Scenarios that FileHold Document Management documents are well suited are to store documents, manage them and share them with other employees through the cloud. FileHold Document Management does a good job at all of these in addition to the fast loading time and ample storage space. However, other software such as good drive still remain better due to its ease of use and accessibility.

We have had a couple of legal inquiries which required us to review emails for a user or users. Using the Barracuda Cloud Archiving Service, we have been able to perform searches quickly, narrowing or expanding the search criteria is easy, resulting in exactly what we were looking for. This has saved us with claims for collections, as well as a couple of legal HR matters. It is my trusted go to application.

• FileHold scales well and can serve small companies up to enterprises with thousands of users.
• Powerful workflow and approval processes.
• MS Office Integration, version control, a powerful search engine, and cloud availability.

• Sonian search is rightly praised for ease of use, scale, performance and accuracy.
• Sonian archive can be deployed rapidly without the need for costly professional service engagements.
• Seamless process to import PST files into the archive.
• Sonian has a high focus on compliance and governance which is reflected with their fast and accurate search function.

• Speed is slow sometimes
• The Outlook plugin does not always find all emails when searching

FileHold is the ideal solution if you are looking for an electronic library with workflow functionality. The ease of use and integration with other tools we already use was also a huge incentive. It also allows us to import and export data. The search features and the ability to accept electronic signatures further made our lives easier.

It performs as expected with no exceptions.

FileHold was easy to implement as well as to configure to meet our organization's business requirements. We all found the search capabilities to be wonderful, reducing the time it takes to find a particular document. FileHold is easy even for the most novice of users to become productive in a very short amount of time.

We only need support when initially setting it up. We really have not had to call for user or help support on this product. It has always worked and is always easy to use.

I selected file storage document because it has better security feature and some employees are used to the software already. Also, I wanted to try out new software to see if there are better software out there than what I'm currently using. Google Drive doesn't offer too much security in term of their file storage feature.

Sonian is a pure SaaS solution and is easy to manage and use. It's cost effective and does exactly what it says on the tin

• We have been able to reduce a lot of store space by moving all PST files to the archiver.
• Users love how easy it is to find old emails that were deleted long ago.
• Some users now rely on this service
