Foundation Software Construction Accounting vs. SAP Cloud ERP

Working as a general contractor or subcontractor, I highly recommend Foundation Software Construction Accounting. I would not recommend it for anything outside construction, but it could still be used for other businesses.

SAP Cloud ERP reduces dependency on multiple systems and ensures improved efficiency in enterprise resource planning. Real-time reporting capabilities and scalability of the product. Use of the software ensures compliance and allows smooth integration with other systems. The software allows customization to accommodate users' uniqueness and has very convenient customer support services. The only major challenge with the software is limited configuration.

• I think A/P Invoice approval could be much smoother.
• Purchase orders should be more detailed able to be issued and easily modified and enter invoices against them.
• A/P check distribution should let you select checks for ACH payment and printed check in the same run.

• The product is expensive compared to its competitors. Proper training is also a requirement before implementation, which is an additional cost.
• SAP S 4HANA Cloud lags due to a high volume of work and data.
• The user interface of the software is very complex and not easy to explore, especially for beginners.

There are some things it lacks, certain reports or history audits. I have to call them to do certain things-submit a ticket and wait on someone to call back instead of getting someone immediately. Especially if it's urgent. I have to wait on them to push an update-and they usually run a week or 2 later- to pull quarterly or annual tax forms.

The cost of SAP as an ERP is quite high and the switching costs associated with ERP systems are even higher. That being said moving from one ERP to another only happens once in a great while for large organizations. Those switching costs include retraining, IT hardware requirements, outside consultants and more

I give Foundation Software Construction Accounting this rating because once you learn the software and how detailed its with multiple steps to complete transactions, it is very user friendly and keeps you from making user errors.

The software is user-friendly and intuitive. It has extensive and reliable reporting and forecasting systems. Smooth integration of the software with other products and unlimited customization. SAP Cloud ERP software supports many languages and ensures high accuracy in billing and invoicing.

Support is usually pretty great. Most of the time return calls to tickets logged are fairly quick. Most everyone is knowledgeable and helpful.

The support system I find great as whenever I run into problems they rectify them quickly as possible they never reacted late the support is just up to the mark for me. They provide many solutions to the problems I faced the [technical] team support is always amazing they [listen] to mean work accordingly.

SAP requires
a lot of internal and external resources to complete its successful
implementation. The cloud version requires a deeper understanding of the
different capabilities of the local systems (hardware) and the connection
towards your local IT team. We found several problems on our systems that we
couldn't foresee before the implementation and roll out.

I did not have a hand in deciding the software, but for our company is has not
led to increased productivity or made things easier. It has been more difficult
for payroll to be inputted correctly and the payroll reports for certified
payroll often come out incorrect and we need to manually figure out how to correct
the issues and get them in correctly

• More reliable and secure as we are not going to create multiple copy of master data, one single shared master data and all will work like charm
• For authentication we can also use Microsoft MFA or Google single sign-on , so less complexity
• For customized business process, we can implement extension packages which are like templates
