Homebase is well suited for small business owners and startups who need to track employee hours more efficiently, and who desire for their employees to be able to directly compliment each other, or have more control over the ability to trade shifts. It is less appropriate for larger businesses that have multiple departments, or businesses with few departments and employees who may be scheduled in more than one department.

Hubstaff is a great find for us in the management of projects easily. It is a fully-featured platform and keeps smart features.
Great program with full robust technology attracts me more and helping a lot. Support needs a lot of improvements. Other
than that, it’s a great platform, definitely recommend this to other businesses as well.

Homebase

  • Homebase provides an easy way to schedule employees. Their scheduling platform is extremely user-friendly and easy to edit once the schedule is made.
  • Homebase makes it easy for employees to switch schedules on their own, a manager just simply has to approve rather than physically rescheduling both employees, this is great for any small retail business or restaurant with many hourly employees.
  • Homebase makes it easy to adjust hours that have been incorrectly clocked or clockouts that have been missed.

  • The messaging features in Homebase are not consistent across the platform. In the app you can mass message everyone, however using the website you cannot, at least not at the price point that we are using.
  • The roles for employees and how to navigate them can be confusing especially when trying to schedule one employee in two different departments.
  • The separation of departments is a bit rigid and makes it difficult for universal employees to be scheduled easily.

  • [Hubstaff] is limited to integrations, while working on the projects I face difficulty to drag the drop because sometimes the plan requires to be discussed and it becomes a necessity to insert various attachments on the spot so that we could achieve the maximum.
  • Further live chats should be made available.

Hubstaff has always responded to support requests in a timely manner and has kept me in the loop of changes.When contacting them about future changes/features they've always been upfront on whether that is a change they are looking to make and when that change may occur. Finally, if the person I have communicated with was unable to resolve, they always escalated to the next best person who can answer/resolve.

Wrike has a task based system that you can clock time against, but it just wasn't flexible enough for the type of work we do, particularly the one offs. HubStaff is also really simple to use, so anyone can get started with it without any training or previous knowledge required. It doesn't take up a lot of space and I can manage it from the top of my screen in addition to the app itself. It also has a phone app which is great if some employees occasionally travel

  • It has also made payroll easier since it's implementation and allowed for fewer mistakes than the previous manual method, leading to less monetary mistakes and happier employees.
  • Homebase has made monitoring hours and overtime, as well as completion of internship and volunteer hours, much easier to monitor, leading to less confusion and more satisfied volunteers, interns, and payroll managers

  • The availability of the recording feature is the biggest plus of this software so that I can easily record things that can be proved helpful to me further.
