Overall Satisfaction with Hubstaff

Hubstaff is using by the technical department and QA department and Jr. level Marketing team. Hubstaff is solving our time management and team activity tracking problem. It helps us the most through the whole pandemic with work from home. Now we are making more informed decisions about employee performance and project total time allocation. Even we can share this with clients also in case of outsourcing the team for transparency.

Pros

  • Time tracking
  • Task time calculation
  • Activity screenshot
  • Reporting

Cons

  • That Hubstaff discontinued with Basecamp was problematic.
  • Sometimes it shows wrong activity count of team.
  • Sometimes there's a difference between time calculated in admin panel and in employee panel.
  • Should give discounts.
  • Time tracking
  • Activity screenshots
  • Reporting
  • Initially team conflict happened with senior team members while installing.
  • Ease of performance justification.
  • Productivity increased.
  • Almost 10% to 15% time input increase so around 10% revenue increased.
I give it 9 because it is really good for time tracking and managing remote teams. It helps me to manage my team very efficiently. Still, prices are high, so don't give 10. I need more discounts to add more team.
Also need more accuracy as users are now fooling the tools with various cheats.
Overall it is good and helfull.
I have personally explored that product. But Hubstaff gives more ease of use. It gives a free user access. Also live team support. Ease of deleting and adding users. They can negotiate on billing. Transparency of billing. More similar to HubStuff. But the team is more comfortable with Hubstaff. With WorkComposer some issues with Mac devices.

Do you think Hubstaff delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Hubstaff's feature set?

Yes

Did Hubstaff live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Hubstaff go as expected?

No

Would you buy Hubstaff again?

Yes

As a matter of cost, it can be less suitable. It's not that costly but still can be lower for regular customers. It is most recommended when we are following the work from home strategy. The daily activity of the keyboard and mouse needs to be more optimized. Hubstaff tasks is less appropriate, With basecamp, it was almost perfect.

Evaluating Hubstaff and Competitors

Yes - Time doctor, This is a tool we replaced with Hubstuff. Team like the UI more and it looks more secure and safe.
Ease of use to team and HR department. Easy to deploy to system and guide to team and employees. Smooth billing and installation procss. Overall team wass more comfortable with it.
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use

The main things that mattered to team was accurate time tracking, we was able to monitor team productivity, and having something that works well for remote team. I needed a tool that could give me visibility without micromanaging, and Hubstaff’s screenshot and activity tracking features really help a lot. It just made managing everything way easier.
If I had to do it again, I will probably spend a bit more time comparing the reporting features with other tools. At the time, I focused mostly on time tracking and productivity monitoring, which Hubstaff does really well. But later I realized I could’ve looked deeper into how flexible the reports are. Overall though, happy with the choice.
