Horizn
It is well suited for someone who works from home often. In this whole new work from home environment most people are facing, it is vital to have software that enables you to access your work desktop. It is also suited for people who travel for work on a regular basis. I can't really see any scenarios where it is less appropriate. Horizn allows anyone to have access to their work desktop at anytime regardless of their physical location.

Userlane
Well suited:
  • Web-based software with many users, complex processes (or both) --> Easy to fix a lot of common support / training issues very fast
  • Software rollouts with high costs associated to ensure user acceptance is great --> Great feedback from users
  • Multiple applications where processes are adjusted regularly --> Fast to roll out across many apps and easy to maintain
Not so well suited:
  • Desktop apps -- > Doesn't really work for desktop
  • Mobile apps --> Limited support, only works for web-based mobile apps
  • Small user base (less than 50 users) --> Not required when there are only a few users

Alternatives Considered
Horizn
We used WorkJam in the past, but it really wasn't comparable to Horizon. WorkJam was more about bring staff together to stay informed on learning management, task management, daily communications and staffing. It was more about providing a platform where employees could connect to stay current on the latest communications from the company. It didn't have anything to do with providing access to your virtual work desktop.
