Likelihood to Recommend The SQL database structure and application-consistent snapshots to local storage and recovery are very well done. The interface is nicely made and it is an intuitive design that needs very little training to use. The Restore from the Cloud function is cumbersome and slow, that could be improved by downloading and finding parts needed, instead of the entire backup media.
Read full review In situations where business continuity needs are high, ShadowProtect backups provide the ability to keep operations running with very minimal downtime, even in situations like crypto-locked data. If a backup server is set up in an environment to resume a live server from backup, this is even more helpful. In situations where clients don't care as much about quickly recovering their data, they can go without a solution like this.

Backups being in native format would be nice for certain files. Read full review The replication offsite can have issues over time. It takes manual involvement to keep it working right. SPX remote management isn't easy out of the box. Read full review Support Rating I have had several requests, and issues with the rollout and deployment of HYCU in our production environment. The HYCU team of support and developers have met each issue with importance and some kind of resolution or explanation of help. They have been so supportive even in the not so easy ones. That says something for their product and team behind it.
Read full review We don’t need support often, but when we do, the support has been strong. Sometimes it is hard to determine how to access support for the exact issue we are having. There are a decent forum and online ticketing system. Support for the cloud center seems to be provided only by phone, though.

The best thing I see with HYCU over Veeam is that it is much more difficult for an attacker if inside the network to gain access to the backups and objects saved in the backup storage. The best part about HYCU over Bacula is that it is much easier to use and more stable. The interface alone will save you from time and energy using other products
Read full review Speed, we rely on Shadowprotect to provide us with fast backups and also backups that are smaller in size compared to the other products.
Read full review Return on Investment We have saved a few SQL issues and recovered data that could have been corrupted. Applications and files have a place in the cloud in case the need is there for other depts. Restoring across datacenters is possible with HYCU saving us time and money to do so. Read full review We have been with Shadowprotect for 5 years and are now only moving off of them due to limited functionality and Shadowprotect doubling our billing. The product now requires a lot more babysitting so I have one person just stuck managing backups, which is not a fulfilling job and hard to keep someone in that seat. While Shadowprotect has been fantastic for years, it is time for us to move on to something that makes financial sense and requires less labour.
