Inova Payroll vs. WEX Benefits

Unless I'm in an unusual situation with an employee, it only takes a few minutes to complete payroll with Inova.Some features are not yet fully customizable and, as a result, force us to reverse engineer processes in a roundabout way that does not necessarily meet our business needs.

It is well suited to help us see exactly which employee and which company the employee is with and how much they employee spent. I really like the reports that it generates and the detail it gives. However I would like to see more details. It would be nice to see the exact date the funds were withdrawn and where the funds were spent. I think this could help us determine that the employee is spending the funds at correct locations and help us when we do our reconciliations of these accounts.

• Calculate tax deductions and distribute paychecks for auditing and tax reporting purposes.
• Applicant Tracking feature that allows you to create and post vacancies on the job page of the website and on various job portals.
• Design plans for onboarding sessions and communicate with new hires.

• In my opinion, poor application of IRS rules
• In my experience, frequent denial of coverage to be later reversed
• In my experience, poor complain processing rules
• need PAPER checks to be sent if you need to reimburse them. PAPER! They don't accept credit cards. A credit card processing company that doesn't accept credit cards.

• I would like the ATS component that monitors candidate hiring to be able to trigger more hiring activities like connecting with our background check provider and scheduling a prospect appointment.
• The benefit statement could be more advanced.
• A little more update for the UXI.

• In my experience, WEX has an inability to connect with other entities on the supply chain (bswift, internal benefits department).
• Slow support request turnaround (3-5 business days).
• Makes FSA substantiation unnecessarily difficult.
• Even when there’s a single itemized receipt for all charges, every charge must be substantiated with a separate upload.
• Even though doing so would satisfy IRS guidelines, WEX won’t accept third party explanations of services as FSA substantiation.

Our company implemented the use of Gusto, and although the payroll service is excellent, the main reason we switched to Inova Payroll was the poor customer service that this program offered us in order to solve the "MANY" problems that were shown on the site.

We formerly used TASC and it was a nightmare. We were not at all confident in their administration or compliance of FSAs, HSAs, or COBRA. When we were looking for a new third party administrator to replace TASC, we were immediately drawn to WEX Health. They offered an easy-to-use website, and it was clear that they were serious about compliance and proper administration of benefits.

• It minimized our cost as we were able to get rid of the paper time tracking system altogether.
• Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding are streamlined in one place where we can connect you directly to payroll.

• WEX Health has made administration of FSA, HSA, and COBRA so much easier
• I feel confident that WEX Health is compliant, as a company, and that they keep us compliant
• We are always able to call and talk to a knowledgeable representative when we have questions
