Jahia Solutions
We have a large volume of digital content to manage and distribute across various channels, Jahia DX is an excellent choice. Its robust CMS allows for efficient content creation, editing, and management, while its flexible delivery options ensure a consistent user experience across all platforms. While Jahia DX is designed to be user-friendly, some technical knowledge is still required to set up and fully utilize the platform. Businesses with limited IT resources might find it challenging to get the most out of Jahia DX.

Optimizely
It is well suited for heavy-duty A/B testing where management would like to see and quantitatively determine the effect of a change. It is not so efficient to try for a single page simple form, except when the form is part of a larger workflow. The security model is not very well understood, including RBAC and protection against injection attacks.

Pros
Jahia Solutions
  • Its customization capabilities, Jahia does not disrupt creative autonomy as some of its competitors do. On the contrary, its modules and components are totally customizable, ensuring that you have your unique identity on the web without seeming similar or a "copy" of something already online.
  • The ease of use, Jahia is extremely simple and easy to use, even users without great experience will have no problem dealing with it thanks to its intuitive interface.
  • The technical support of Jahia is another strong point, service is always fast and enlightening, they really do their best to help in every way possible.

  • Provides quicker release cycle for the way the product cards should be displayed.
  • Provides feedback for new product introduction and how it'll be perceived.
  • Allows rapid blackout from user experience changes that alters traffic flow.

Cons
Jahia Solutions
  • Jahia would benefit from broader marketing and user-base. Great software, hidden gem still.
  • Functionality-wise, adding an email campaign capability would really round out a full end-to-end stack.
  • In context help, as we cycle through authors, retraining would be easier if admin screens had help in line.

  • Can use better interface for managing test, including scheduling and notification.
  • Feels too heavy for simple projects, though this isn't a factor once past the PoC stage.
  • Notification on various aspects can be made more powerful and granular if such a need arise.

I would not use Jahia as it proved too complex for our needs and didn't help our over goal of customer satisfaction. Along with the man hours to build and execute, it wasn't worth the hassle

Reliability and Availability
Jahia Solutions
[I give it this rating because it] was up most of the time. There are so many scheduled reboots that I don't think it would be a good choice for a 95% SLA.

Support Rating
Jahia Solutions
We have quite a good support from Jahia but our main contact is still our integrator. I wish Jahia was more involved. The support from the Jahia Customer Success Manager has been quite irregular.

Alternatives Considered
Jahia Solutions
Compared with its free competitors, which are developed by developers all over the world, Jahia has complete control over its DX product, which makes it extremely stable. Bugs are under control and the few that do occur are quickly corrected. The same goes for the modules. They evolve with DX and are immediately compatible. And for those who aren't, it's because other modules are replacing them. There is no risk that the developer who designed a module will no longer maintain it as he does with WordPress.

There is a big difference between the two: Google Optimize uses Bayesian analysis while Optimizely uses Frequenting. There is a risk of counting multiple visits. Google Optimize data isn't available instantly (if I remember correctly). Optimizely's analyses dashboard is a lot richer and offers a better experience, though it may get intimidating.

Return on Investment
Jahia Solutions
  • The full Enterprise package with Form Factory and Marketing Factory included provides the best user experience as the sites are more dynamic and adapt themselves to end users profiles. You are likely to get a much better targeting of the content this way, but of course it has a cost
  • Jahia is robust and reliable and is a good base to build up on digital transformation

Optimizely
  • Almost immediate payoff in terms of the benefit.
  • Easy to justify the TTM benefits to upper management.
  • Still somewhat hard to justify ROI, though this is not my expertise.
