LoadSpring

LoadSpring is great for managing licenses so that a user who hasn't been utilizing the software can be placed inactive so the license isn't being occupied. Managing services and applications is great. You can easily change access through the management portion of the service. Uptime is also very good.

Projector PSA

We think Projector PSA is a great tool to track and manage people in a professional service environment like management consulting. This system is easy to set up, easy to understand and should easily suit the needs of smaller and medium sized firms. It may be less appropriate for firms that rely very heavily on project management through another system (like MS Project) or firms that rely very heavily on a sales pipeline tracking system. While still very much possible to use, you would (I believe) have to do some re-keying between systems

Projector PSA

  • One challenge has been the user interface of the management portal, but that is currently being overhauled. The new design is being rolled out incrementally, and so far we've been very impressed with it, both visually and functionally!
  • Projector is first and foremost a project management tool. Because of this, we had to come up with some workarounds for customized accounting tasks we needed that were not part of the native Projector logic, but we were able to get what we need done.
  • One thing we did have with our previous PSA tool and that isn't available in Projector is an integration with MS Outlook calendar. That would be a great feature for our team.

We have been using this tool for a year now and find our use of it continually evolves and broadens. We are also very excited about the overhaul that's under way and feel many of the improvements being put in place will help make us that much more effective and efficient. The Projector team is also very responsive and collaborative in terms of user feedback and improvement suggestions, which helps us know they will work hard to help us get what we need out of the tool.

LoadSpring support is very quick to respond. They have self-service for support which is great for quick fixes on the end-user side of things. They will respond with a good solution and if they need further assistance from an administrator, and they email them so they can assist the end-user with their issue.

Alternatives Considered

LoadSpring

LoadSpring has a great up-time compared to our old hosting service. We haven't had many outages and very few issues while running our concurrent sessions. Automated license management has been great so our active licenses stay very low. I wasn't involved with the purchase and migration but I feel this was the better option.

Projector PSA

We did pursue Quick Arrow another tool that was similar. We found that be in inflexible in use. Projector allows a lot of flexibility in setup. Our organization has very specific business processes and we were able to set up Projector to work with those processes. Several other systems we tried were not as flexible in allowing set up to our needs.
