I would definitely recommend PicMonkey! It is diverse for the average person or the business professional. If you need to edit pictures, create graphics, or implement marketing media this is the tool to use! It may not be enough for someone who needs something a bit more advanced like Photoshop, but in my experience it has covered everything I need.

If you're in a situation where you're regularly creating content for a website, social media page, or even printed materials, Pixlr is a great option! It allows you to create something simple from scratch (with just a solid background and text) or something more complex (with multiple pictures, layers, fonts, shadowing, etc.). It's our go-to method for creating content. If you're someone who isn't very tech savvy, the learning curve for using Pixlr effectively could be discouraging. The interface is intuitive, but there's a lot to it

Cons
Marmoset
  • probably when you have an already done baking setup and you change the mesh, the reload takes a lot of time.
  • sometimes its very difficult to find errors in the bake because the beauty render in Marmoset Toolbag hides it very well. In the viewer of our texturing program is very noticeable so I have to go back and forth between them to fix bake errors.
  • I guess the texturing deature of Marmoset Toolbag is not yet something that our studio is willing to jump over to, we have a lot of missing features from currently industry standard programs

  • Changes to toolkit / use buttons are sometimes difficult to keep up with
  • Separating free items (fonts, images, etc.. ) from those requiring upgrade
  • Explanation of sizing tools / pixels is difficult to understand and apply

Usability
Marmoset
I give it an 8 just for the sake that you can do pretty well bakes, pretty good realtime renders and those are like the key features of Marmoset Toolbag. But I dont give it a 10 because they advert a texturing tool while its still very raw on those terms, but overall excellent program for the cost

PicMonkey's usability is outstanding! I was able to learn how to edit my photos and create graphics in a short period of time. Between the tutorials and the amazing user interface, I felt like a pro! PicMonkey is very detailed but not so overwhelming that you miss out on great features.

I personally never really need support with PicMonkey. It works great, and I can find what I need. There may have been a few times when I've Googled for an answer related to PicMonkey, but I've not had a question answered.

Marmoset
We use substance mainly for the control over the bakes, none of the programs listed above which are other programs we used that can actually do bakes, are nearly as good as Marmoset Toolbag. I can vouch for Marmoset Toolbag as the best baking program out there till the date, giving you almost complete control of how the bake is gonna end up looking and achieving it really fast

PicMonkey
Adobe Photoshop is a better service with many more options, but for basic image manipulation for someone who is a beginner, PicMonkey is superior. There is almost NO learning curve. Canva has much better templates and design options, but not as many photo editing options. I like to use a combination of PicMonkey and Canva for my small-business marketing needs.

Canva is a similar program using for creating content. I've tried out their suite as well but always end up coming back to Pixlr because of ease of use, and my familiarity with the product. They continue to make upgrades to the product and have always had what we feel we need to make top-notch looking graphics for our organization.
