MEGA - The Privacy Company
MEGA is great for storing and syncing files across devices. It has a great web interface, as well as a sync tool for desktop and a mobile app that works very well on iPhone. (I have not used the Android version of the app.) I like the overall usability, as well as some of the features like the QR code and contact list functionality. I like the file versioning and file management features as well. What works less well for me is collaboration with other users, and file sharing among users. I have not been able to find a way to view all files shared with me from other users in the same view as my own files. In fact, when files are shared with me, the only way I have been able to locate them is through Notifications, which is sub-par. I would much prefer to see all shared folders alongside my files, without having to make a copy of the shared folder, thus losing the ability to sync with another user's changes, as well as using up my storage space.

Photobucket
Photobucket used to be great in the late 2000s to early 2010s. Even free account holders could enjoy many of its features and quickly and easily share photos. However, these days there are so many better alternatives, while Photobucket's feature set has been limited to premium and higher-tier accounts. Cloud storage providers now offer generous bandwidth caps, so offloading media is a thing of the past - even for the most budget-conscious freelancers. Photo-specific features provided by these service providers are constantly improving. [...] As time goes on, the list of reasons that used to differentiate Photobucket grows thin given their [in my experience,] shady past in holding photos hostage without a premium plan, I can no longer recommend this service. Price-wise, only their unlimited plan is worth considering since, for capped storage plans, the usual suspects (Apple iCloud, Google Photos, Amazon Prime) have them beat. Likewise, Photobucket's built-in image editor is very convenient for making basic changes without having to fire up a separate photo editor

Cons
MEGA - The Privacy Company
  • Sometimes the download rate drops by a lot, so the downloads take much longer.

  • Plans are awkwardly priced compared to competitors
  • [In my opinion,] made shady practices in the past forcing users to their premium plans

Usability
MEGA - The Privacy Company
Clean, contemporary UI that is heavily polished and works great. You can tell they did a lot of user testing with this, and have a top notch UI design team that really cares about the customer. A highly user-friendly service across platforms and form factors, I found their web, desktop and mobile apps to all be impeccably designed and consistent.

Support Rating
MEGA - The Privacy Company
While I have never contacted customer support, there is a large user community that has posted solutions on third party websites to a number of common questions like how to share files, and how to access files that have been shared with you. When I received a 40 GB shared file, I was not able to find how to access it until I searched on Google to find a solution, which was easy to find. The large user community helps with support tremendously.

MEGA - The Privacy Company
Mega is a must go to first when expanding cloud storage capabilities and security. Mega can store any file types beyond that of Google Drive and iCloud. Mega is competitively priced to be a suitable option to replace or augment other cloud storage options depending on your business needs. Mega is a must download addition for cloud storage

[I] also had an ImageEvent premium account, and it was far easier to manage images in Photobucket. ImageEvent's UI is very dated, and its feature set has largely remained stagnant. Photobucket has evolved over the past decade and offers a clean enough user interface to quickly accomplish what needs to be done.

  • You can share large files quite quickly. Also, those who receive the link can access the file in just a few minutes.

  • The peace of mind is priceless. Time is money and I spend a lot of time stressing over accidentally losing files. This helps.
  • I no longer have to use multiple services to send files to clients. It's more specifically designed for photos rather than documents of all types
  • I want the positive experience for clients to continue from beginning to end and I like that this system is simple for them to use as well.
