Likelihood to Recommend It is well suited in environments that want a simple AV product/solution that, for the most part, can be easily deployed to client endpoints. It is also good for environments that want something that is easy to use by end-users, and also doesn't use a whole lot of system resources. It is less suited for environments that want an AV solution that is more robust feature-wise, or has more configurable options for the end-users. It is also less suited for those organizations that want an AV product to have the highest detection rate in the industry.
Read full review I have experience with Watchguard Endpoint Security (EPDR) with small companies of five or more endpoints to large companies with hundreds of endpoints and find it well-suited for both types and everything in between. However, it is particularly good for companies with lean IT departments due to the awesomely automated and intelligent tools it provides for quick investigation and response. Also, its automated white list approval process for unknown executables is extremely fast thereby reducing and sometimes even eliminating delays that could impair employee performance.
Read full review Pros Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection offers exceptional threat protections for signature-based "known" threats. The signatures are constantly updated and management of this application is super easy with the use of Microsoft SCCM. The application is very much a "set it and let it" type of deployment. Once you install it, there are very little configuration or changes that need to be made. Read full review Centralized management makes monitoring simple. Deployment is quick, easy, and automatable. Zero Trust means exactly that - if a process is not KNOWN to be safe, it is blocked until evaluated. IT managers can block or grant authority to override the automatic protection in case of the immediate need to allow a process known to be safe. Read full review Cons The product could improve in the area of having better mechanisms in place with how the SCEP client is deployed/installed from the server on the management side. We have run into this firsthand with the client not installing on an endpoint, and then having to take the time to investigate why it was not installing. A second improvement that can be made is to keep trying to improve the products detection rate for finding malware/viruses. The case can be made that there are some products out there that do a better job at this and have a higher detection rate. Read full review As with any application of this nature, it can block processes or other suspected security risks that are actually safe. While easy to use, it sometimes provides less learning opportunities for less experienced staff who are not as well-versed in these applications. Read full review Likelihood to Renew The ease of use, pricing, support, reliability, and quality of the product. Panda / WatchGuard products are highly rated, priced right and easy to maintain. All of this make it very easy to renew and purchase new licenses for us and our clients.
Read full review Usability Easy and intuitive MSP management portal to manage all of your clients from a single pane of glass. Policies can be pushed down globally or individually based on needs. The client portal allows access to their tenant information and installs only which is nice if you are working with clients who might have an internal person or an IT team that also wants access to things to manage themself.
Read full review Reliability and Availability The software is 100% managed on a cloud platform that can be managed via an account even if they are not present within the company network where the software is installed, I even always opened the control panel on the browser of my smartphone to monitor the situation.I have never experienced any abnormal software crashes
Read full review Performance The only annoyance I complain, if we want to be picky, is the fact of the constant disconnections from the control panel.Every about 4 hours the account logs out even if I set the "remember this device" flag; having said that I have not noticed neither slowdowns nor conflicts with other software
Read full review Support Rating There was a time and a place in which Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection was an excellent choice to provide threat protections. However, now that threats have been evolving, so too does the need for more advanced protections. In its current offering, it just no longer meets the needs of our organization in terms of providing protections against threats.
Read full review I gave it a 10 because I compare it to air conditioning. I need it to work every day, 24/7. I need it to be reliable and not something that requires a ton of interaction from staff to make sure it works every day. In addition, I should be able to run other things at my house when the AC is on. Panda fits that description.

Read full review Online Training Easy to access and review information
Read full review Implementation Rating The software goes manually on a PC only on the company network and then proceeds through that PC to install the software on all the other clients through the control panel where all the clients / servers on the network are detected with extreme speed and ease of execution, even for uninstallation and remote control over scans
Read full review Alternatives Considered How SCEP stacks up against some of the other AV solutions/products is that it does a pretty good job overall (not the best in the industry) at detecting/removing malware, which is the main focus for a product like this. It is also easy to use on the end-user side, which can't be said for some other AV products on the market. I was not involved with the selection/purchase of the product in the organization, but I'm almost certain the organization selected this based on the tight integration with Microsoft System Center Manager, which is used in the organization. Also, given the fact that SCEP is tightly integrated and works well in organizations that utilize Microsoft products, it was probably another factor in selecting this. Lastly, the cost of licenses was probably lower (because of System Center already being in place) than other AV products.
Read full review Very similar. I feel like Watchguard need to get a better foothold with people trusting the name in the endpoint space. It has pretty much everything S 1 does but it also provides so much more. Simple things like patch management and encryption are fantastic adding that deliver true security value
Read full review Scalability With the implementation of watchguard (at the beginning Panda Endpoint, but it is the same) I was able to insert in the control panel all the unauthorized software previously installed by colleagues without any authorization from the various department heads. Now any licensed software goes into lockdown and can be unlocked from the control panel
Read full review Return on Investment There was little/no cost associated with this software since we are utilizing SCCM and are paying license costs for that anyways. The level or protection is excellent for the cost of the software. There was at least one instance in which Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection identified a crypto-malware, but not before it had already started to encrypt many of our files. So it did detect the threat, but since it was a little delayed we still were infected. Read full review [...] The ability to make website URL and category viewing restrictions resulted in higher productive personnel and reduced the risks of infection. For the IT department, the centralised management console with all the information and tasks prepared to deploy to the endpoints helps us work more efficiently and faster. The ROI has been really good along [the] years, with a safer environment our employees work better and without stress, that translates in productivity.
