Evaluating Watchguard Endpoint Security and Competitors
Yes - Replaced Symantec Endpoint Protection due to licensing constraints and pricing.
- Scalability
- Ease of Use
We wanted an endpoint security solution that works with our existing technology and is easy for technicians to use. Features are added and updated but core functionality remains the same.
If I had to do it again, I'd try to do more stress testing to help us set expectations with end users and tune the product for a good balance of usability and security.
Watchguard Endpoint Security Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Yes - The initial phase included installation on a heavy-use machine to understand operations and any performance impacts. The second phase included a larger test group with a representative from each business unit. This phase included small changes and measuring results. After successful testing we moved onto the next phase. The third phase included rolling out to all other users. We monitored for a few weeks to set a baseline before moving to the Lock settings. After this phase the work was moved to ongoing maintenance.
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled - We created new testing groups with a representative from each business unit. This helped us understand impacts to each part of the business. We made small changes and measured results over a few days before making further changes.
- Impact of change
- Blocked programs without a notification in the portal
