Paddle vs. Zoho Invoice

I wouldn't recommend them to anybody because their support is getting worse and worse and their business processes require you to contact support whether you want to or not. You will be forced to contact support and then wait for days to get any meaningful response that's not a copy/pasted sentence from FAQ.

Zoho Invoice streamlines invoicing, payments, and customer interactions, improving financial health and saving time, money, and energy. It ensures billing accuracy, reduces errors, and streamlines client billing by tracking goals and streamlining invoice generation. Zoho Invoice focuses on automation and invocation management to efficiently complete multiple tasks. Zoho Invoice has all the features needed for an invoicing system, but it could be better at integrating with other CRM platforms and simplifying taxation.

• Super easy to implement SDKs across supported platforms that support modern interface paradigms.
• Real team members that provide backend support for merchant issues. We had issues addressed quickly and taken seriously whenever we needed anything.
• Help with navigating VAT transparently. We never worried that we were messing up in this complicated area of international sales.
• Great first line customer support reduces the need for an extensive customer support organization on our end. They dealt with all purchase related issues as well as lightweight technical issues (e.g pointing users to FAQs, update links, etc.).

• Multiple payment platforms integrated for ease of client payment.
• You can create different hourly rates for various tasks or individuals within an organization.
• You can attach files to your invoices.
• Clients get their very own log-in.
• Ability to create credit notes.

• Analytics could support more flexible analysis of reported data and better custom events.
• More customization of the drop in purchase UI on the web without the need for a full custom site integration.
• Sometimes communication from their front line support staff has gone to the wrong address.

• Time tracking, though easy enough, could be simplified. Having the ability to change default settings when entering time could save a few keystrokes.
• The ability to automatically take unbilled hours and pull into a new invoice seems to be there, but it is a bit cumbersome. It also defaults to too much detail. Having the ability to customize would be great.
• The ability to auto-BCC yourself on all invoices sent out would be a nice feature.

Zoho invoice has changed my expectations of what services like this can be. Providing something as simple as invoicing for small businesses who are struggling to find places to cut costs at such a reasonable rate is life-changing for some businesses. I know it was for mine. We saved so much that we did not have to cut in other areas. That has helped to keep us in business and grow it as well.

We tried using Stripe before Paddle, but it was a pain integrating it and it lacked the licensing. Paddle allows us just to add a payment button and don’t ever think about payment methods, we don’t have to make a separate button for card payments and another one for PayPal. Paddle does all this in their checkout process.

Google Drive stored my invoices in one accessible location but required more time and maintenance. I didn't want to invest the time into building out sheet functions to carry over figures across sheets, so I researched invoicing options. I am already a fan of Zoho services, so it was an easy decision to try out their Invoicing site. Same login, the same level of support, free trial. No risk! I was pleased to find the solution on my first try.

• We wanted to grow faster, which was possible once we integrate recurring payment gateway. And we've got Paddle to do that.
