Integration with Identity and Access Management Tools
Skyhigh is best suited for notifying us of the bad services which are being run in the organization. It really reduces the time it takes for in-depth analysis of proxy logs. It is also helpful for notifying us of any abnormal activities performed by the users in the cloud apps. For example, if a user has left the company and then there was a huge amount of files downloaded from his drive, we may not have known. Here, Skyhigh helps by notifying us of anomaly-like data (high amounts of download and upload activities performed). This is one of the best scenarios I can say, where we see what actually is happening in the cloud drives for the organization. It also helps by notifying if there is any service or activity performed against any sort of compliance with its own mechanisms.
SumoLogic is a fantastic log aggregator and analysis tool, a fine alternative to Splunk. Searching is powerful and mostly intuitive and results come fast. If you have application logs in clusters or Kubernetes pods that lose their logs every time they're restarted, Sumo is the solution for you
I believe that McAfee Enterprise Security Manager is best-suited for anyone in an office setting with a computer containing sensitive information. McAfee Enterprise Security Manager is constantly working to make sure that your device is free from an threats. Our field workers, however, probably wouldn't have a need for McAfee Enterprise Security Manager. They do not use computers for work and have no sensitive information stored in a work-related cloud.
Sumo Logic allowed for our InfoSec team to ingest logs from our CDN directly, in real-time, instead of massive compressed archives that were sent every two-hours (the only alternative at the time). Sumo Logic had an app for these logs, that allowed us to easily get an immediate payoff from the data, with canned dashboard and saved searches.
Sumo Logic has a fairly extensive REST API when it comes to log sources, source configurations, dashboard data, searches, etc. Their wiki for the API is usually kept up to date.
Sumo Logic, during the period of time I had used their product, had added the ability to configure agents via configuration files. This allowed customers to configure their endpoints, and modify the endpoints, with configuration management tools like Chef / Puppet / Salt. Beforehand, the only option was to always make changes either via the web portal or REST API.
The solutions engineers were extremely helpful, and easily reachable when issues would occur.
Users at our company found it easy to get started, working on new dashboards, scheduled searches, and alerting. The alerting worked well with our third-party paging tool.
Skyhigh is a leading CASB helps in identifying the bad services and protecting user data with a detokenization feature and also with the anomalies triggering alarms to customers for any suspicious activities. It provides users by providing blocking script to block service on the proxy or firewall and also shows the abilities to the user to balance the weight of risk service.
Sumo Logic is very powerful but definitely requires some configuration work to get the most out of it. You can get a certification related to this, but it is definitely not something you can just throw together.
I would give this rating because I attended a free Sumo Logic training at a WeWork in Chicago. I found the training very useful, and I learned a lot of features that I was not aware of before I went to the training. I like the idea that SumoLogic provides free training seminars. I am certified in level1, and I plan on certifying to level2.
McAfee Enterprise Security Manager overall is a great tool. It is effective in today's setting, wherein lots of potential threats are lurking. Its operations within the network are seamless. Users won't even notice that a SIEM is working in the background. But in today's trend, most of the businesses is heading towards the migration to cloud, which McAfee should improve its integration with.
I was satisfied with the implementation, as at the time, it was the best way to implement the product with the available feature sets in Sumo Logic. User creation and management became more of an issue during continued use, instead of it being an issue related to deploying the product in our environment.
We felt like when we looked at at Netskope, Skyhigh had the most complete vision. They also have custom apps which I am not aware of other services being able to do
Sumo Logic works very well out of the gate. For a small business it has given us what we need. I worked at a larger company previously, and we produced so many logs we had to create a custom logging service to handle them all. Cost and availability are big issues when deciding between the different services, whether self maintained and hosted, or provided by another company.
We selected McAfee Enterprise Security Manager because the pricing is competitive in the industry. It is very reliable. The vendor offers good support in real time. Offers the results that we have been looking for. The ability to get the logs may be of last 2 years in a matter of seconds. The ability to retain logs for a very long time.
