Use Cases and Deployment Scope

There are plenty of use cases that we use Adobe Acrobat for; they all seem simple but are vital. It's the best PDF viewer, beyond that is the capability to make quick edits, organize pages, compress PDFs, I use it to sign my timesheets, and any other form that needs to be signed. With some clients we use it to annotate comments on the artwork for approval. There are many new uses cases but I find Adobe Acrobat does a great job at all the boring things I need it to do.

  • Editing in Adobe Acrobat should be a simplified version of Indesign; its clunky in many ways

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Adobe for various things in the workplace. For starters, we use it to convert and edit PDF files. This is very helpful when we are working with different document uploads from our clients. Being able to create accurate files and keep them consistent helps us stay organized and efficient.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro to do many things for the office. I scan and edit multiple documents on a daily basis. Adobe makes all tasks easier. I love the crop tool. The signature tool makes it even easier to sign and send a document to an important client. The text tool allows you to add text anywhere you need to.

  • You can create an editable PDF form for others to complete based on the questions you include.
  • You can create and send a secure document to a client for their signature.
  • It is easy to add photos to any document.

Cons

  • Please lower the cost.
  • The crop tool seems harder to use in this version.
  • The eraser tool is difficult for me to use and get the results I am looking for.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Adobe Acrobat extensively in our organization. We use it for digital signing documents, as well as our scanning application use it for scanning documents.
In addition, our tax application requires Adobe Acrobat to be used, such as for using the Plug-In PDFlyer and the applications CCH Axcess and CCH Engagement. In addition, I use the feature to print out application statistics and then combine them into one large, convenient file for reporting purposes.
We also prefer to pay all invoices in PDF form when we can.
We use Adobe Acrobat extensively across the board.

Pros

  • It combines files extremely well and easy.
  • Digital Signing makes life so much easier.
  • When scanning from printers into our system, PDF format is invaluable.
  • We use it in conjuction with AutoBatch, AutoMassSecure, and AutoSplit for document processing. Other formats would not work as well as PDF and Adobe Acrobat, since these are Adobe Acrobat plug-ins.
  • For our tax programs such as CCH Axcess and Engagement, it would beautifully in conjunction with tax returns. We actually scan paper returns and they are converted by CCH Scan into PDF Format for many uses!

Cons

  • I wish the backward compatibility was a little more friendly. PDFLyer had to be updated sooner that we would like when we updated from Adobe 2017 to Adobe 2026.
  • I wish it had list processing like Excel where it could remove duplicates, change formatting, etc.
  • Sometimes after an update we lose our plugins and have to restablish the connection to the plugin or reinstall.

Return on Investment

  • It has had a positive impact in my activities because I can combine the documents with ease into one large list, and even choose what I want and do not want.
  • Well its not said much, it really does save on paper! It is invaluable in that way and they way you can secure documents make this much more desirable!
  • Encryption should not be underestimated and frankly I think users take it for granted. It is invaluable that Adobe Acrobat has encryption as well as built in password protection.
  • Our compliance auditors prefer we use Adobe Acrobat when we can. Enough Said.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my role and across the team I work in, Adobe Acrobat (along with many other Adobe products) is a business-critical product. The majority of documents on our site are PDFs or will be converted to PDF versions for better accessibility. We heavily rely on Adobe Acrobat to run key accessibility checks with its built-in Accessibility Checker tool and use this to ensure all documents are meeting the necessary requirements before we upload them to our site. This includes checking that content is tagged correctly, the reading order makes sense and will flow correctly for screen readers and ensuring colour contrasts are met, among other things.

Pros

  • Expert level accessibility checks on documents
  • Can easily convert Word documents to more accessible PDF files
  • Combines files into singular PDFs, making it easier to group together and run full accessibility checks

Cons

  • Overall load times
  • Can sometimes crash when trying to convert larger files
  • Clearer UI for users, some people find the options and layout a bit daunting
  • More in app support on how to fix accessibility issues

Return on Investment

  • Decrease in inaccessible documents being uploaded to our media library
  • Reduced complaints regarding document accessibility
  • Once file owners have been shown how to run their own checks, we have gained time back from having to fix many mistakes
