We originally switched to RUN Powered by ADP® due to compliance reasons around payroll tracking and retirement benefits. Since then, we've found that they were best in class and price for us in multiple areas including: HR Compliance, Benefits administration, payroll, scheduling, time tracking, and job board posting. Its getting used by our employees multiple times a day and our managers use it every few weeks to confirm benefits with our team members.

Pros

Customer Service
Up to date on newest compliance concerns
Benefits administration is straightforward
Seeking customer feedback
Personalizing which services we need and use rather than large bulky packages

Cons

The ability to customize the language that goes out to our employees
Certain onboarding for new employees can't be opted out
Most of the services all have different people that are the contact person which means that quoting out services or issues between multiple functions send you bouncing between different reps.

Likelihood to Recommend

Anyone running a service or mobile business would love the ease of clocking in and out with GPS services. Small and medium sized businesses looking to offload some of their accounting and HR functionality would all appreciate it. I helped my brother-in-laws housecleaning business get set up with RUN Powered by ADP®, as well as a friend's dry cleaning company.

We have been using this platform for almost a year. RUN Powered by ADP® is a top-tier payroll solution for small businesses (1–49 employees) that need to manage both W-2 employees and 1099 independent contractors. We like the intuitive dashboard, reliability, and the ability to handle both worker types within a single, unified platform.

Likelihood to Recommend

Great for small businesses that don't need much guidance and have a good handle on their operations. Once implementation is over the personalized service is not the same. Calling the 800 numbers is a gamble and hold times have been long. The service during implementation is fantastic. We like being able to streamline all our service through one vendor.

We use RUN Powered by ADP® for processing payroll, job costing, tracking hours. In my opinion, the software is simple and helps reduce errors. It automates tax calculations and filing which is very important. Our company has about 50 employees. We run payroll weekly and at the moment I'm the only employee who works with RUN Powered by ADP®.

Some reporting is missing (for job costing)
Support team is great but sometimes it takes too long to reach out
RUN Powered by ADP® won’t let me process payroll if someone closes the payroll preview without clicking “Finish Later”

I print out the employees’ time cards, and the manager assigns the jobs for each employee. After that, I enter the information into the software and run payroll, and everything usually goes smoothly. The only issue is that payroll can’t be processed if someone closes the payroll preview window without clicking “Finish Later,” because the system thinks someone is still in the payroll session.

Is easy to organized and keep up with employees

The interface is rather large, it would be nice to be able to adjust that
It is sometimes pretty slow

We needed a new payroll system, and this fit our needs perfectly. The multiple direct deposit accounts are put to use across our organization

The screening should allow for electronic payments, not live checks. Recurring payments to emlployees that are once a month, it would be nice to be able to set that up, instead of "every payroll" or not at all.

Our primary use of RUN Powered by ADP® is the payroll feature which I have been very happy with overall. It is simple and offers many situational columns that were a relief to be reduced to a simple numerical input rather than having to do manual calculations. We also use it for HR policy updates as well as premade forms for HR situations.

Pros

Payroll processing is a simple easy input
Customer support is always available for a call for any issues
Employee information is easily access and adjusted if needed.

Cons

I do wish there were additional custom deductions available rather than a limited amount.
Sometimes employees have trouble accessing their account after the initial invite has been sent.
Sometimes employee accounts get locked due to a reused email if their profile is deleted before they've signed up. Only a call to support can correct it.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is a very simple payroll processing platform. I would recommend the platform to any small business looking to outsource the process. Its pay-per-person policy also makes it adaptable to businesses with minimal employee counts. I think it may not be as useful for employers who have consistent hourly employees that do not fluctuate as often.

The process went smoothly and our employees benefited from the training videos to become acquainted with the system. We also received great assistance from the person assigned to our project and was readily available whenever we needed her assistance.

RUN Powered by ADP® is well suited if you have salaried exempt employees. For employers like us, who have employees enter the total time of hours worked per day, some of the settings are not applicable. It makes it difficult to explain to employees and causes issues. One of the issues is that employees see all departments when they enter hours.
