ApplicantPro is okay

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use ApplicantPro across the organization to fill positions in numerous markets across the US. Our HR department uses it to allow managers to post positions, reply to applicants, set up screening calls and interviews. It allows us to find numerous candidates. If the candidate isn't a fit for one position, we are able to save and recommend them internally for other positions.

Pros

  • Notifies me when someone has applied for a position.
  • Send follow-up emails to applicants.
  • Relatively easy to set up a job posting.

Cons

  • It does not seem to have the best screening of applicants. I find that it lets a lot of unqualified candidates apply.
  • If the applicant doesn't use the resume upload feature, the resume import function is not extremely readable.
  • The user interface is a little clunky.

Likelihood to Recommend

I would have thought ApplicantPro would be good for lower level positions such as accounting clerks; however, I have not had much luck finding qualified applicants for these positions through ApplicantPro. I'm not sure if this has to do with a software or the current state of affairs in the US with COVID-19.

My Applicant Pro Review

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Applicant Pro is the Applicant Tracking System for our organization.

Pros

  • Love that the applicant initially completes a short application process.
  • The text messaging feature is great.
  • Nice reporting feature. I use some of the reports for our annual AAP.
  • @Notes feature works well.

Cons

  • Recently it has been a bit harder to push jobs to my Favorite job boards.
  • Can be hard to reach a CSR for help.

Likelihood to Recommend

Applicant Pro is a very user friendly ATS. It's a low cost ATS with some nice features. Jobs are easy to post using the Job Templates or copy job listing feature. I find the reports very useful for our AAP reporting. You can also create custom reports as well as job question templates and Inbox templates. I especially like the texting feature offered. These days applicants respond quickly to a text rather than a voicemail.

Easy to use job application management

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We choose ApplicantPro because it integrated with our HR software (Bamboo HR) and would allow us to submit a job posting to multiple job sites with minimal effort. I really like how easy it is to use. Also, their staff is very helpful in making suggestions on how to tweak job ads and use their software to help screen applicants.

Pros

  • Integration with BambooHR for when someone is hired
  • Posting to a very wide variety of job boards
  • Having job templates so you don't have to redo listings

Cons

  • Wish is was accessible from within BambooHR so managers didn't have another portal & password

Likelihood to Recommend

Great if you use Bamboo HR as all the information will pull over once you hire someone. I also like that they included 2 job ad rewrites with the initial setup

ApplicantPro or ApplicantCon?

Rating: 6 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We currently use ApplicantPro as our Applicant Tracking System. Our HR team uses this to post and edit jobs, sort through applicants, draft and send offer letters and house historical applicant information. We also allow managers access to ApplicantPro to review applicants, approve and send offer letter and post jobs as needed as well.

Pros

  • ApplicantPro is very good at tracking applicants throughout different jobs - allowing users to copy and find applicants easily.
  • ApplicantPro makes it easy to post jobs externally through just one posting system.
  • ApplicantPro job posting is very easy - simple questions that are quick to answer and copy/paste features.

Cons

  • ApplicantPro could improve process change implementation. If you change one part of a process, it often times changes the whole thing.
  • Within the offer letter (eForm) feature, you have to restart an offer letter entirely even if you just need to edit one item - this is time consuming.
  • Sometimes the layout can be difficult to navigate/find what you're looking for - specifically on an applicant's home page.

Likelihood to Recommend

ApplicantPro is well suited in a environment where an employer isn't hiring a ton of people - this is because ApplicantPro is built with some automation, but you do have to pay attention to each individual candidate.

ApplicantPro would be less well suited for a company looking to hire a lot of people or a company where they want to post a ton of different jobs.

User Friendly and Cost Efficient

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

ApplicantPro is being used by our organization as our sole ATS. We use ApplicantPro to post jobs, both internally and externally, and it does a great job of integrating with Indeed and pushing out to several other sites. We also utilize ApplicantPro as a requisition system for our managers to request job postings and for it facilitate the approval process. We supply both our recruiting team and hiring managers with access to ApplicantPro, and it is easy to set up and manage for both. We also use ApplicantPro's background service (ProScreening) to facilitate the background process.

Pros

  • Applicant Pro has been great for our company. The ability to push the job to several free job boards (including several local options), as well as paid services, makes Applicant Pro a great bang-for-the-buck applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • The system is user friendly, which makes it easy for hiring managers to go in and go through resumes hassle free.
  • For our recruiting team, Applicant Pro provides plenty of tools tell help us be successful, such as messaging (including a built-in texting system), facilitating background checks, and other great features.

Cons

  • While Applicant Pro interfaces with many HRIS platforms to streamline onboarding, unfortunately this option is not available for us (though I'm not sure if that's Applicant Pro's fault or our HRIS provider's fault).

Likelihood to Recommend

ApplicantPro is excellent for small and mid-sized companies that need an easy and cost-efficient way of getting their jobs posted and getting lots of applicants. It does interface with some HRIS platforms, but for most cases it may not interface with all HRIS platforms.

Excellent applicant Management as a stand alone product

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Applicant Pro (AP) takes an enormous burden off of the hiring process within our company. We went from getting 10 applicants per position to 5-10 times that amount and it is no more work to review them thanks to so many great features. AP frequently comes out with enhancements to their software. AP has allowed us to involve management and hiring committees more easily as well as screen applicants more thoroughly. My company is required to post our open position with our state workforce services job board and AP has a feature that will automatically post our jobs there with no additional work on our side. Customer service has been excellent every time we call and implementation was very easy.

Pros

  • Allows us to involve a hiring manager or hiring committee in the selection and review process via their own logins. Easy to manage access to only the right job postings.
  • Custom (knock out) questions for each job posting. This is nice because we can get very specific as to what information we want out of an applicant. This helps in narrowing down to the final candidates.
  • Ability for teams to each rate a candidate (via 5 stars). It then takes an average which helps in selecting candidates for interviews.

Cons

  • There are not a lot of negatives. Great ATS solution with great customer support.
  • They do have a job email notification feature for potential candidates but it only sends it out periodically. It would be nice to have more control of when the emails go out.
  • The design is improving but takes some getting used to.

Likelihood to Recommend

I would recommend this to a mid size company that is wanting to attract more candidates and allow others to get involved in the selection process. Also it is a big help for compliance in regards to hiring. We use as a stand alone product. I know they integrate well with other software but we haven't gone down that path.

ApplicantPro Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

ApplicantPro was used as our main recruiting application. It connects with our business website career page and stores all applicants in ApplcantPro. It was how we set up interviews, sent our digital interviews, started onboarding, etc. It was utilized as one of our main recruiting trackers. It was easy to work and read. Not complicated or overwhelming. It helped the business keep organized in our interview and hiring process.

Pros

  • They are neat and well organized in their presentation of their software.
  • They are able to connect with your company website and collect data.
  • You are also able to connect other software with it, such as 321forms and I-9 verification.
  • It is easy for managers to use and request interviews or to move forward on hiring.

Cons

  • It some ways it can seem too simple - you can't have a lot of work done directly through ApplicantPro. For example, you had to have it connect with other software to onboard people.
  • Sometimes it was very hard to get a hold of your rep or customer service for help with the system. I would say it was a 50/50 response.
  • I wish it had more in it that you could utilize from being hired to be terminated and in between, such as performance tracking, etc. It was maybe that my company didn't utilize the full software, but I didn't see that option.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is very well suited for recruiting and keeping track of all the resumes, and people who applied to open positions. I would not say it is an appropriate software for onboarding materials just because it makes you use a different software. If they implemented an onboarding documentation tracking I would say it would be more appropriate. I wish it just had a little bit more in the onboarding area.
