Axero - A Solid Social Intranet

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Axero as an intranet for our franchisees. It houses documents, training modules, and we use it to send the majority of their email communication. We have set up several spaces on the platform that are unique to our various products and the franchisee's stage of development. We also have a few spaces for our W-2 team members who support franchisees,

Pros

  • Content Management
  • Landing Pages
  • Wikis

Cons

  • You can't duplicate broadcast messages or schedule ones in advance if they've already been sent.
  • The analytics on broadcast messages is nonexistent.
  • I wish the digests had rich text.

Likelihood to Recommend

Axero is great for a customizable social intranet platform. It has good search functionality and excels at content management. You can customize permissions on a granular level to promote interaction without opening up the floodgates if you don't want to. Axero could be better at email and it would be nice if you could white label the app.

Communifire - an excellent community building tool

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Communifire to host a community of our customers, each being served with different sets of information and support. We found Communifire with customisations for our specific requirements to be a much more cost-effective solution than a full bespoke production, and two years later we're still happy with that decision.

Bryce and the team are excellent to deal with and I highly recommend the package.

Pros

  • Increases engagement
  • Lots of flexibility
  • Lots of capacity to grow

Cons

  • Some UX issues that could be improved
  • Some architecture decisions don't make complete sense to me (though that's just one man's opinion)

Likelihood to Recommend

I think Communifire is a powerful tool for both for organisational intranet applications, and where you want to get your customers really 'close' to you and supported in your ecosystem.

Cream of the Crop!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We purchased Communifire to set up a community for consultants and contractors. It's commonly known that it's not what you know but who you know that gets you places, so we wanted give our contractors every chance of success by bringing them together in a common place where they could connect. In addition to bringing people together we wanted to give them some extra support by providing additional information on things that might be of interest to them and help them in their work. Communifire is a great tool for this type of need. It allows us to blog, share news and events, post jobs etc., and it even allows for small teams of people to collaborate on projects. We looked at many platforms to meet this need but Communifire was really a standout for us.

Pros

  • Communifire allows people to connect easily through instant chat and messaging. It works similarly to other social media platforms like Facebook so its not hard to learn.
  • Communifire makes it easy to share news and events with our community and the presentation of this information looks very professional.
  • I found Communifire quite easy to configure to our individual needs. There were a lot of options to turn things on or off. This was important to us because in some areas of our community we wanted to allow our contractors many features and in other areas we wanted to really limit what was on offer.
  • We had a big list of things we needed a platform to do. Communifire ticked all the boxes.

Cons

  • Communifire is continually working to improve their platform. At this stage I am happy we have enough functionality and features. I will update my comments should I think of anything later.

Likelihood to Recommend

Communifire is very suitable for our need and is a great looking platform.

Starting a Fire at work - Communifire Review

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

At Evocca we use Communifire across our entire organization (900-1000 employees spread across almost all of Australia). We were searching for a social and engaging intranet solution that could house our corporate documents, foster a sense of community and streamline organization wide communications. Communifire provides the social elements we were looking for and provides opportunities for staff who are living at either ends of the country to still feel connected to other staff members and valued by their colleagues. The system also allowed for a our company wide announcements to be far more engaging than just 'all staff emails'.

Pros

  • Allows for easy customization - This was important for our organization, we wanted to be able to cater the platform to the specific needs of our staff. Most of the system settings were easily accessible and those that required custom work, were provided in appropriate timeframes and at a reasonable price.
  • Personalized news feeds - Being an education provider we have a very dynamic group of staff members ranging from corporate professionals to community service teaching staff. Communifire allowed us to set up appropriate groups and sub groups so that any given staff member can have a news feed that pushes relevant content to them based on their role and position in the organization.
  • Active Directory Integration - Evocca has had stages of rapid growth and change. Effective AD integration has made it possible for new starters or those shifting roles within the company to be automatically and immediately grouped with the staff members they need to be grouped with and see the content they need to see within the platform. From a long term system management point of view, this was vital for us.

Cons

  • Exporting functionality - We look forward to being able to export all and any data from the system which I believe is not currently possible.
  • Outlook calendar synchronization - A true 2-way synch between Outlook and Communifire would allow us to make better use of the calendar function. At the moment we have it turned off to save any confusion or missed appointments from two calendars.
  • The ability to synch with Office Online - We would love to be able to work live on documents within Communifire. The more elements we could tie into the system the better.

Likelihood to Recommend

Specific scenarios where Communifire would be well suited to an organisation, would be companies that are people focused and committed to frequent and open communication channels from both the top-down and bottom-up. It also would suit organizations that are committed to providing the staff opportunities to collaborate, share and actively contribute to company initiatives and planning. If these aren't elements of your organization's culture, the system would still work for you or those companies who just want to push information out and have an effective intranet. Communifire would cater to these scenarios just as well and is more than capable of providing that type of simple solution.

Communifire makes communication easy.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Communifire is used as our corporate intranet across our whole organization. Communifire has improved communication between our main office and retail stores as well as within each store.

Pros

  • Easy to use and understand. Staff with any social media experience picks this up immediately and uses the full set of features to communicate within their team and between teams.
  • Easy to set up. Installation support was excellent in getting us up and running quickly.
  • Excellent support. Questions are answered immediately and ongoing support is excellent to help us increase the use of additional features.

Cons

  • Could be more calendar integration between teams/spaces.

Likelihood to Recommend

Communifire is excellent for a small business and easy to scale as we grow so we will not have to change software with accelerated growth.

Social media for the workplace . . . absolutely!

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We're a process-and-policy driven business in a heavily regulated industry of specialty finance. With more than 75 employees in 9 locations, communication has always been a challenge. We use Communifire across the entire organization as a centralized document repository, internal collaboration and training site. All company-wide communications, announcements, documents, events, etc are managed here.

Pros

  • Deployment was fast, easy and without the need of an IT department.
  • Very user-friendly interface that users identify with as it is similar to other popular social media technologies . . . this is essential for adoption and continued usage.
  • Central repository for documents, training materials, and other company content.
  • Easy ability to make user groups that have rights to assigned content.

Cons

  • Removing member access without deleting content, but still keeping historical accuracy of user posts.
  • Some improvement can be made in assigning users (new and existing) to various spaces easily, perhaps through group selections.
  • Required read/receipt of content, which I understand is not being worked on.

Likelihood to Recommend

One of the things I really like about this platform is that it can be adapted for many different things and uses. Any organization desiring a collaboration, culture-building tool, this is a great fit!

Communifire - Community Platform Extraordinaire!

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We deployed Communifre as a community platform for our certification course trainees and graduates. It is being used for our entire community of 1500 plus. We were using Facebook and email to interact with our users but needed a better way.

Pros

  • Support. Support. Support. Did I say excellent support? :)
  • Flexiblity and ease of use.
  • Responsiveness of Axero Solutions with changes.
  • Ability to make changes to the platform without programming.

Likelihood to Recommend

Communifire is excellent as a community platform or for a company intranet.

Finally - Business Community Software for Small to Mid-Size Organizations

Rating: 10 out of 10

Pros

  • Variety of mediums to communicate with customers, partners, staff.
  • Private and public interaction available.
  • Self-help.
  • 24 hour availability.

Cons

  • Sorting data in the administrative sections. Search engine is great however.
  • Cases capability is not a full blown-help desk system, but is not designed to be. For some older customers, takes a little hand holding to get them comfortable. Our staff loves it however.

Likelihood to Recommend

This is a bright, energetic, 'can-do' team. I have liked them from day one, because they are always striving to improve their product, help the customer, and provide tools that are not available anywhere else for the price.

IMHO most community based software is only customer-interaction focused - and separated from the rest of the business. This software allows businesses to inculcate business processes and customer-interaction to give a complete stack of tools for the small to mid-size business.

I cannot see any other way for our business to run in the future.
