Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Tribe Community Platform is an incredibly flexible, scalable, and powerful platform ideal for almost any group of people who want to connect around a shared goal. Beautifully designed, simple, intuitive tools

Pros

  • Ideation
  • Knowledge base
  • Community

Cons

  • mobile
  • integrations

Likelihood to Recommend

Whenever we have a question about Tribe or a support request, Tribe is always helpful. There is nothing better than getting a quick response from CS team. The only con I can see at this time is that users cannot send private messages to other users at this time. In addition to being able to leave comments on one another's posts, you are not able to send messages directly to each other. Tribe provides different app plugins like Amplitude, Sendgrid, Telegram, Google Analytics, SSO, Zapier, and more, all of which are very easy to use and require only a little bit of technical knowledge to put into practice.

Has Promise but Needs Additional Upgrades

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Tribe [Community Platform] is being used by both staff and those who are interested in our organization and credentials. For staff, Tribe [Community Platform] allows us to create a private community in which we can share articles and connect. For the community as a whole, Tribe [Community Platform] allows members to connect with one another and ask questions that are not necessarily customer service related.

Pros

  • Ability to create Secret/Private Groups
  • Premium Features - unlimited community members, custom URL
  • Tracking active users, reputation score

Cons

  • Spam filters
  • Banning bot accounts
  • Increased ability to use HTML

Likelihood to Recommend

During COVID-19 Tribe [Community Platform] allowed non-profit organizations to utilize the premium features for free which was a great benefit. It has helped us utilize our community in order to answer questions rather than having an abundance of support tickets. Tribe [Community Platform] needs to increase spam filters and bot accounts however, as many of the community's are overrun with them. I manually remove these accounts each week.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

<p>Tribe Community Platform has been instrumental in building an online community for our customers. It helps us engage with customers, learn more about their needs with candid conversations, collect feedback, offer peer-to-peer support, and helps us scale content marketing via user-generated content. </p>

<p>We have been able to build a powerful repository of both static and dynamic knowledge base to help our customers with self-service and improve product adoption. It has also helped us recruit brand ambassadors to fuel our referral programs.</p>

Pros

  • Plugable widgets.
  • Modular apps (e.g., virtual currencies, SEO Boost).
  • Comprehensive API for workflow automation.

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer an events app.

Likelihood to Recommend

It’s great for mid-sized businesses and enterprise companies. It has a lot of out-of-the-box offerings, but at the same time you can customize and take it to the next level with a bit of in-house engineering mojo.

Tribe is a powerful, modern, and feature-rich community platform

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We’re using Tribe Community Platform to build a niche social network and community of practice in the quality assurance domain. It helps us elevate our brand value and positions us as a thought leader that facilitates discussions around the latest trends, best practices, and news in our domain. The user-generated content from the community boosts our search engine presence and helps us scale content marketing to improve brand awareness organically.

Pros

  • Customizability
  • Valuable social apps and integrations
  • Design inspired by social media
  • Fully white-label

Cons

  • Mobile app
  • Ability to charge subscription fee natively for the monetization

Likelihood to Recommend

Perfect for SMBs and enterprises looking to build branded online communities. It is less appropriate for people looking to charge subscription fees to the members.

Tribe community platform is user-friendly, modern and delivers exactly what it promises

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

<p>Tribe community platform getting used in our company as a pilot project with employees for building a private community that would help the employees share knowledge, improve company culture, and improve productivity. This would help us stay connected socially and build better employee networks considering the recent shift in remote work caused by the pandemic.</p><p></p><p></p>

Pros

  • Customizability and brand adaptability
  • Embeddable widgets
  • Lower learning curve
  • Beautiful design
  • Personalized activity feed
  • Comprehensive API

Cons

  • Mobile app
  • No way to create landing pages

Likelihood to Recommend

Since we're using it for a private community for our company and it is working out well, I can say that the use cases listed on their site should be apt. For example, you can create a customer community for support and feedback, a community of professionals, niche social media sites, discussion forums, etc.

Powerful platform with deep integration capabilities to build your social community

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Tribe Community Platform has allowed us to create an online community for retail professionals under our brand. This community, complete with social media-type features such as activity feed, user profile, and discussion system, allows us to connect the members as well as empower them to help each other. It is getting managed by our community management team; however, our whole team contributes to community development.

Pros

  • Social media type design.
  • Modular apps to extend the functionality of the community.
  • API and Web-hooks
  • Deep integration with widgets.

Cons

  • Mobile app
  • Better analytics

Likelihood to Recommend

Tribe is best when you are looking to build social communities, a support community, and a community of practice. If you are looking to charge a subscription fee to give access to the community, then you need to set it up via Zapier integration with Stripe, and this can be complex.

Very disappointing

Rating: 2 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We were looking for a way to interact with our community and considered Tribe since it seemed more modern than other alternatives. We've started with the Free Trial since we saw it provided the features we needed for a community: custom domain, theme control, and supported up to 500 members.

Tribe provides admins with the ability to customize their community, but this customization is limited, and you usually have to stick with its layout, which is unfortunate because it's way too overcultured and it's hard to navigate it. It looks like it tries to go after Facebook groups, but there are too many windows on the screen which makes it very hard to navigate.

It takes a long time to really set up a community with a good user experience that reflects your brand.

The good thing about tribe is its additional apps (like social login, virtual currency, etc). Unfourantely most of them are limited to plans that range from $85/m to $249/m and beyond, and I can't really figure out why. Providing a Facebook Messenger integration is really a matter of 1 line of JavaScript, why do I need to pay $249 to use it?

Pros

  • Use your own domain
  • Apps (although they require a subscription of $85/m - $249/m to use)
  • Activity reports
  • Decent customization

Cons

  • Terrible user experience (especially on mobile), way too overclutered
  • Restricted to Tribe's default layout
  • You have to pay $85/m - $249/m to get access to apps, support and remove Tribe logo
  • Looks pretty old and works rather slowly

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited if you're willing to pay $85/m - $249/m for a basic community, but the platform still needs a lot of work to offer a modern, user-friendly experience

Easy to use, modern design, fair pricing, and lots of useful integrations.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Tribe is used by our marketing, customer support and product management teams. Our ultimate goal is to increase customer lifetime value. We are trying to build a loyal community of our customers who would connect with each other via our brand as a common element. We hope to engage them and be on the mind which would increase the customer retention rate. <div>

</div><div>Apart from this, we are facilitating the creation of user-generated content via our community that would be indexed by search engines. This will eventually lead to new user acquisition as they will discover content present in the community. The user-generated content will also serve as a repository of knowledge-base that would deflect the support queries.</div>

We are happy with this product since it has helped us build a strong community of our users in a short time. This led to substantial savings in terms of reduced support cost and revenue growth via acquisition of new customers.

Pros

  • Straightforward setup and configuration
  • Embeddable widgets to add community experience directly inside the site
  • Cost effective compared to other products based on the available features
  • Dedicated and super responsive account managers
  • Relatively easy integration using the API

Cons

  • Lack of mobile app
  • Minor bugs

Likelihood to Recommend

The primary reason we selected Tribe is because of its cost-effective approach. We get enterprise-level features, customer support, and really modern design at highly competitive pricing. Apart from this, their pluggable widgets, customizability, and moderation tools are far superior than anything we have used. They will simply be unbeatable if they add a mobile app to their offering.
