Bitdefender GravityZone - the Nightmare for my company

Rating: 1 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We switched to Bitdefender GravityZone to replace an existing small office security product.

Pros

  • In our experience, completely messed up our systems by deleting/quarantining files without prompt

Cons

  • In our experience, customer support is very slow
  • In my opinion, far from being user friendly or easy to use
  • In my opinion, more granular installation/creation of installation package about which actions should be taken if possible threat is detected
  • In my opinion, not just install their software but go through every single option to make sure everything is set correctly
  • I think better training
  • In our experience, restoring files does not work

Likelihood to Recommend

In our experience, only suited if you exactly know upfront which file filters you need to set up in Bitdefender GravityZone so exceptions on files can be handled, else they expect the admin to set up rules for files exeptions where even the admin will not know what files will come in via mails.

Easy to use and a great price!

It is well suited for small to medium business that are looking for a cloud-managed AntiVirus. We centrally manage the AV, policies and updates from UK for a global scale operation - 1 portal for all devices with connections that aren't reliant on anything but web connectivity. Super simple and easy to manage.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use bitdefender as one of our managed antivirus options. It seems to pick up the things we need it to and offers an additional layer of protection in our security stack. We utilize it along with a firewall, phishing training, EDR, MDR, and several other pieces of security software.

Pros

  • Virus Protection.
  • Global Policies.
  • Central Management.

Cons

  • GUI navigation.
  • Better training.
  • Ease of use.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you need a centrally managed AV solution for your clients, Bitdefender Gravity Zone is a great option. We use it for our clients who want a strong AV system and other network security tools we offer. It is a nice addition to all of the different security features we offer.

Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud Hosted Antivirus A+ product

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We implement their cloud hosted AV and EDR product. Does not slow down machines and provides amazing protection and defense to all the networks we support. It is great to have a product that has come through time and time again protecting our clients from themselves as well as online threats.

Pros

  • Runs seamlessly on computers
  • Great real-time updates
  • Proactive threat protection has been flawless so far

Cons

  • I wish the billing portal was easier to understand
  • Slightly more granular control of the settings
  • make alerts easier to configure

Likelihood to Recommend

It is great for any company that wants to protect their endpoints. We have scripted the install and had it work very well. The EDR platform is great and has caught many threats. Not necessary for home users but would work great if someone wanted to take the time to setup Bitdefender GravityZone portal. Wish the portal made a little more sense and was easier to navigate.

Bitdefender - The answer to all our nightmares!

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have around 120 endpoints (mostly Windows - but a few MACs) - We moved to Bitdefender after using a Russian AV-based company due to concerns. We are using the full suite offered by GravityZone, which has been far less intrusive and resource-hungry than the previous solution. We have now even added MDR as a package. We like the flexibility to be able to bolt on add-ons and the support offered to integrate these add-ons as and when needed.

Pros

  • Threat Monitoring.
  • Patch management.
  • Real time alerting of any potential issues.
  • Great Support.

Cons

  • Sometimes finding more detail on the console about an event can be a bit harder than you would expect.
  • The homepage doesnt let you drill down by clicking on the overview graphics - it would be a nice feature for easy troubleshooting.

Likelihood to Recommend

Bitdefender had been a great replacement for our previous product - it was painless to make the switch with very few issues. We tested in a VM lab a few different offerings, but Bitdefender was the one that covered everything we required at the time and allowed us to be able to expand the offering simply.

Excellent Small Business to Corporate Level Endpoint Protection

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Bitdefender GravityZone for one of the small businesses I support. This business has 12 computers spread across 3 sites. The product is able to protect all these machines against malicious threats from outside of the organization (email, phishing, attachment attacks etc.), and also against intended or unintended attacks from within, e.g. someone putting an infected USB device into a PC port. I can see at a glance how the product is protecting the devices within the Company and how many times it gets attacked, along with the source of the attack and how Bitdefender has removed or made the machines safe again.

Pros

  • Block and disinfect threats
  • Protect devices from internal and external attack
  • Scale for more users and computers
  • Show current status of every machine in the company

Cons

  • Making it easier to create an endpoint package to deploy to a new PC on the network.

Likelihood to Recommend

BitdefenderGravityZone is well suited for use within an organization or Company where there are multiple users and computers (more than 2 or 3 PCs) , since it is very scalable and becomes more efficient to use with the more machines you protect. From a remote support point of view, the product is excellent and saves a huge amount of time, particularly as the number of machines increase in a business; not only that but you can manage many different businesses from the same console.

The Best EDR in the market

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Bitdefender GravityZone is the main solution for EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) in our organization and our clients' organizations aswell. Precise, reliable, providing one of the best heuristic detection engine in the market. The agent is light and the cloud platform is higly customizable, this is one the best choice for a EDR

Pros

  • Heuristic Detection
  • Constantly updated
  • The Dashboard is intuitive and easy to use

Cons

  • Whitelisting can be tricky sometimes
  • A small/medium organization can lose itself in the maze of the licensing
  • Linux protection can be highly improved

Likelihood to Recommend

In terms of EDR, Bitdefender GravityZone is probably the best out there. The product promptly respond to threat pointing out suspicious attack paths, MiTRE ATTCK patterns and malicious files of connections. The policy configuration is broad and covers anything an IT Operation team may need. With ransomwares it's really the best EDR.

Great Product Overall

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use email protection within our Office365 environment. The product filters out malicious attachments as well as spam. The configuration tool allows for a lot of flexibility with respect to how restrictive or lenient the filtering is. Whitelisting has also helped to ensure that critical emails make it through with no adverse effects.

Pros

  • Email protection
  • Spam filtering
  • Whitelisting

Cons

  • Support is slow to respond
  • Interface is kind of clunky
  • Quarantined emails can be tricky to find

Likelihood to Recommend

Bitdefender GravityZone does very well in the small to medium-sized business space. It's easy enough for a small team to manage but powerful enough for use in more restrictive environments. Enterprise environments may want to look for a more robust solution that offers a more responsive support team.

Good product let down by lack of customer service. Not user friendly for small businesses

Rating: 4 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Product good, administrative setup options inflexible and difficult to administer. Customer service via email takes days to respond, email replies are

of little help, and no way to obtain assistance to resolve except by email. Calls to customer service support numbers are answered by call centers [that] can only relay messages to internal support

departments. Problem - there is no way to remove a

partner without having another partner replace the old partner even

if the license was purchased and set up directly and not through a partner. After purchase and setup of BGZ, brought on external IT assistance who added themselves

on as a partner to our existing license. When migrating to a new IT support provider, unable to remove the old partner and the new IT provider was not a Bitdefender partner so could not replace the old

partner account. After several emails back and forth, BD advised partner could not be removed and offered no solution. The previous partner deleted our account without notification after

renewal and account access [was] disabled. Bitdefender advised not possible to regain access to the account and must set up a new account then delete and install new instances on all computers. In addition, the 1-year license just purchased cannot be activated in a new account and a new license must be purchased. As it's not user-friendly and customer service is lacking, do not recommend it for small businesses.

Pros

  • Antivirus and anti-malware protection
  • Cloud management of devices
  • Does not noticeably impact computer resources

Cons

  • Email support only, too slow to respond and not particularly helpful. Too much back and forth to resolve issues
  • Requires tech proficiency and time to deploy and maintain
  • The renewal process results in losing days from the old license unless perfectly timed to add a new license added on the date the old license expires. results in changing the annual renewal date every year
  • No way to remove partner and retain access to account

Likelihood to Recommend

Better suited to businesses with experienced and dedicated IT support

Comprehensive Security that easy to deploy and manage

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it in our organization and our clients. We use the EDR to protect the desktops and servers. This is part of an overall security strategy to protect companies from external and internal threats.

Pros

  • Protect from Viruses.
  • Protect from Malware.
  • Block untrustworthy websites.
  • Alert when there is an issue.

Cons

  • Better Documentation.
  • Easier way address software blocking access when initially installed on the desktop without having to uninstall Bitdefender.
  • Network Printers by default are blocked - we found this out on home systems and it caused a real headache at first.

Likelihood to Recommend

Great fit for internal IT team or for supporting multiple organizations. You can create independent policies as needed.
