Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Blueshift as a customer data platform - both to manage, curate, and update our customer segmentation and to integrate that data into our email templates. We build all our customer journeys, triggered campaigns, retention campaigns, and promotional campaigns in Blueshift. We have a robust customer experience that spans over hundreds of campaigns - so it's quite intricate to manage.

Pros

 • Customer data management and segmentation
 • Intuitive, easy to use platform
 • Quick and efficient customer support

Cons

 • Campaign management features like drag and drop, copying elements - general ease of use improvements to the UX
 • Ability to move customers easily from one campaign to another with one click

Likelihood to Recommend

We capture a wide amount of customer data at our organization, and Blueshift does a fantastic job of organizing that data in a manageable way. Specifically, in customer events, we are able to capture large amounts of time-sensitive data within each payload specific to that event. We then can trigger campaigns and segmentations off of that event data. This is essential to our success as a team and an organization.

Great Product for Complex Marketing Programs

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Blueshift is an excellent customer data platform for companies managing large amounts of data. It was especially useful for developing complex emails and campaigns based on several stored data points and API calls. The user interface is the best of any email platform I have worked with making complex tasks easy to implement. The support was top-notch also.

Pros

 • Intuitive user interface.
 • Manage complex data.
 • Useful features.

Cons

 • I honestly can’t think of anything.

Likelihood to Recommend

Blueshift is well suited for companies with a large user base, complex campaigns, and customer journeys. It is good for companies with technical emails that use lots of complex personalization and use API calls to generate data for emails. If your company has a smaller less complex email program, it's still a good tool but might have too many features that you wouldn’t necessarily use.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We were looking for something that would tie into the systems that we use to originate the services that we offer, directly into Blueshift for us to then trigger and send out campaigns without much manual intervention. The only setup we would need would come from the setup of the campaign itself, and then based on the criteria we were looking at we'd then select and drop them down the path that best fits them. We would use this by using the API connectivity and drive in the data we would need to pull that in.

Pros

 • API Connection
 • Campaign Management
 • Dynamic List Creation

Cons

 • Reporting.
 • Support.
 • Flow of Data.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think Blueshift is well suited as a CRM. It does a great job handling the customer information that you need, placing it, and displaying it in one concise place. They could do better in regards to being forthcoming with information. Documentation is weak, and depending on who you speak with on the support team, they may have different answers to the problem you're having. In my experience, there are a lot of inconsistencies in how they think about reporting, that someone who's been in marketing for the past 10-years, has to relearn and rethink how we share data for KPIs.

Powerful AI-based tool for data-driven marketing

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Blueshift is primarily used by the marketing department for data-driven, personalized and automated lifecycle email marketing. Recently we started utilizing Blueshift messaging through SMS to support our customer support team.
While looking for a solution for us, it was important that the platform offered hotel and travel-specific features, like segmenting users based on data like travel dates, location or hotel type. Blueshift was one of the only platforms that was able to do this and continues to work with us to introduce features that work for our specific needs.

Pros

 • Customer Segments + Recommendations Tool - Blueshift and has helped with automating and personalizing our retargeting efforts. The true value of Blueshift was realized when we could launch triggered marketing campaigns targeted to specific segments based on a user's behavior onsite, and deliver relevant personalized content using the AI-based Recommendations tool.
 • Integration with Segment and other apps
 • Retargeting with dynamic content pulled from data feeds / catalogs

Cons

 • Onboarding: Onboarding can take a while and certain features like segment filters aren't very intuitive. However, they set up regular calls with a dedicated account lead to help with initial difficulties.
 • Reporting: While Blueshift certainly has helped with reporting and tracking, it is still very basic and it would be great to see more in-built customizations starting with tagging campaigns. At this point, you still need to download data on to excel to work on it.

Likelihood to Recommend

Blueshift is a great AI-based platform for travel companies that would like to retarget users as the platform is able to look at last searched dates, location, and hotel/ room type.

Blueshift - A Powerful Marketing Automation Tool

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is used for marketing automation purposes and in order to provide specific content based on our users' actions and their behaviours. Through the use of workflows and specific segments, we're able to provide personalised content depending on the user journey. It is used mainly by the marketing department but we require the help of the tech department in order to implement events and therefore understand the way it is being used.

Pros

 • Range of capabilities
 • Predictive score
 • Integrated with a lot of other tools
 • Facebook syndication

Cons

 • Not the best UX
 • Support is often needed to understand how the tool works
 • Reporting could be improved (UI)

Likelihood to Recommend

The predictive score is useful in order to push content at the right time to potential customers. Facebook syndication is great if there is a strong social media activity that can be used for better cross-marketing. Integrations (Segment for instance) are useful for event tracking, data analysis and measuring ROI.
