Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Bynder to manage our library of thousands of digital assets which are used for social media, advertising and many more uses. we use it on a regular daily basis since this is the main way that we share assets with others in our company and outside vendors as well.

Pros

  • Organize assets by type, category, and purpose
  • Easy searchability with filtering system
  • Easy to send assets to outside organizations

Cons

  • Permissions options could be easier to understand
  • Mass uploader could use less steps
  • Difference between share link and Bynder express is confusing

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited for situations in which large files (over 25 MB) are needed to be sent to people within your organization or outside organizations like print vendors. It is great for uploading new photography for your co-workers to share new products with customers. A case in which it may not be needed is for sharing small files for less important events or things like web design where elements are very small storage and can fit in emails.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

My company uses Bynder to store all of our digital assets from photography to, video, to logos and social media content. We experienced problems with lack of storage and accessibility for our sales reps before we discovered Bynder. Since then, it has been a great tool to use for keeping up with assets and allowing the whole team to use it easily.

Pros

  • Easily update files
  • Easily find assets
  • Can easily send assets to outside organizations and people

Cons

  • Easier ways to understand derivatives
  • Shorter taxonomy to load assets quicker without using mass-uploader
  • Easier ability to control user capabilities without having to request permissions settings from Bynder team

Likelihood to Recommend

Bynder is well suited for growing organizations that have many assets and need to send them to outside parties and large files that cannot send through emails. If your company is a smaller size and the assets can be managed in a different way, Bynder might not be as necessary.

Bynder DAM newish implementation

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

At this time, the core use case is supporting out business web site and automating workflows withing creative services for image curation. We intend to expand the use to email and social media, and include final video assets. We expect to use collections to provide internal clients with choice of assets for both self-service and selection on projects.

Pros

  • Tagging
  • Asset loading
  • CMS integration
  • Easy to configure and set up

Cons

  • High cost for SFMC integration
  • High cost for external partner access

Likelihood to Recommend

Bynder nails the core functionality. Even the skeptic on the team are all in. Their onboarding team was excellent, and the resources and models they made available made it one of the most painless products to stand up and integrate that I've ever added to existing workflows and stacks. There's an interest in using it to manage video review workflows but it's seeming like that's not a sweet spot.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Bynder as our asset site for all our corporate logos, style guides, approved photographs, video reels, talent documentation and more. The site serves as our one-stop shop to find any and all marketing materials. We had issues in the past knowing where to go to find the official approved asset. There was a lot of file sharing going on outside of official channels. This simplified our search to one place.

Pros

  • The search function is very powerful.
  • The duplicate finder has saved us many times from uploading the same asset multiple times.
  • Multiple sizes and file formats as options for download are automatically created.
  • Auto-generated key words.

Cons

  • I think the cost per terabyte of storage could come down.
  • Large file uploads tend to get hung up at the end and when they fail, one must start over.
  • It would be awesome if there was a hover preview for video clips.

Likelihood to Recommend

The onboarding with the Bynder team is top-notch. They're knowledgeable and responsive with any questions we may have. The platform is very powerful under the hood. It's completely customizable. The roll out to the larger company has been largely successful. Our IT team has been satisfied with its built-in security measures and it works seamlessly with our SSO. This has been a wonderful tool for us and I would highly recommend taking a good look at Bynder if you are in the market for a DAM.

We've made it work for us

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Bynder is a simple yes accessible tool for our organization and key partners to find and access creative files for marketing, sales, and ecommerce. We use Bynder primarily as a DAM with simple photo and graphic storage which also allows users to resize and access the files they need in the format they need them. It offers better search and sort functions than other simple storage tools and is easy for members of our team and key partners to navigate.

Pros

  • Asset display and organization through tagging
  • File resizing for all users
  • Simple cloud storage for creative assets

Cons

  • The studio is not quite effective enough to be useful by our team
  • They are scaled for enterprise level use which makes some features cost prohibitive for a mid sized organization.
  • The AI search leaves a bit to be desired.

Likelihood to Recommend

Simple asset management, up through sophisticated asset management.

It does not feel as well suited with it's lack of integrations to other softwares.

Even though Bynder is anti-folder in favor of collections... Folders could be useful.

Bynder is easy to use by many and offers self serve for many members on our team.

Bynder for Advertising Agencies Its a Yes

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Bynder to organize everything from photos to brand guides to digital ads. Before Bynder, we used a server organization system, which meant we spent unnecessary time--sometimes a lot of it--tracking down a specific asset, and there was no information associated with the assets. To share assets with clients, we had to upload them to a SharePoint folder and send a link, which sometimes had permissions issues. Since implementing Bynder, we have onboarded multiple clients, and they all love how intuitive it is to navigate. With the recent addition of targeted homepages, we are even more positioned to offer our clients bespoke digital asset management experiences, setting us apart from competitors.

Pros

  • filtering
  • onboarding
  • knowledge base

Cons

  • I'd like to see better UX/UI options in the CXUC module, like the ability to place content blocks anywhere, the ability to have different themes on different homepages, and for the edit box to follow you as you scroll
  • It would be amazing and hugely time-saving to be able to copy the metadata from one uploaded asset to a new upload
  • Hovering over images in upload to expand them would help when there are a lot of images/detail in them

Likelihood to Recommend

Bynder is great for companies that need to store, organize, and share a high volume of assets for many clients, brands, etc. It's especially useful because you can both search and filter, so whether you already know what you're looking for or not, you can find the asset you need. It wouldn't be worth the cost if you only had a few hundred assets to upload; it really works well because you can parse through thousands to find specifically what you're looking for.

When the Bynder Team is Your Quasi-Therapist

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using Bynder across our entire organization. We needed to find a way to better control all of our digital assets and their end-use, and Bynder has been an incredibly versatile solution. When you have various digital files scattered across a myriad of desktops, shared folders, and emails, it's incredibly difficult to manage and is unnecessarily time-consuming. Bynder serves as a single source of truth for our digital assets that reduces the time spent searching for an asset and guessing if the asset you’re looking at is the correct version, and increasing the efficiency of managing our digital assets across the company and with our external partners. It creates a platform that is compatible with all departments and provides accurate and historical information about our digital assets.<p></p>

Pros

  • Organization of our almost 10,000 digital files
  • Ensuring assets are being used in the correct context
  • Ease of sharing multiple or large files across the company or with external partners
  • Being able to update a version of a file without having to re-upload and tag
  • Restricting access to certain files

Cons

  • Ability to apply multiple filters from the same metaproperty
  • Reduction in automated tagging

Likelihood to Recommend

We have numerous renderings for some of our properties that are constantly being updated. It was hard to keep track of the most current rendering since it lived in multiple locations with various employees. Creating a central location where we can regularly update the renderings without having to add a new file and re-upload solved the issue of questioning whether the rendering you were looking at was correct.
