Does not listen to consent or value business partners.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

CardConnect does not listen to consent or value business partners. Representatives state there is no contract when it works in their favor, and then declare that continued account usage means they can make up rules as they go. There is no instant way to cancel the contract you were told you weren’t in (it took 13 days to receive a cancelation form that mentions additional fees, again when rules are made up freely for any open account). This company will not send you a copy of the merchant agreement and will not allow you to see the original contract without filling out a form and waiting 2-3 business days. The bank statements and charges are unclear and not affiliated with the company by name; being charged by “merchant services” is unclear and creates problems for busy business owners trying to stay afloat after a pandemic. Voicemail box of the appointed representative remains full when you need to reach them. Representative will fail to read email if "lengthy". When you call for customer service you are skirted around from department to department, and specific questions are not answered. Supervisors and managers do not exist, but they can still take your money. Case in point, this company's main policies and values steal from small community businesses, which we all know is a deficit not only to families, but also local economies. The contract for CardConnect/Fiserv/cardclover/cardpointe/merchantservices is unclear, unethical, and nonconsensual.

Cons

  • customer service
  • stealing money
  • unclear contract/forever changing contract terms

Likelihood to Recommend

CardConnect does not solve problems or have managers or supervisors that exist do so. They explain your open account means they can do whatever they would like at any time. CardConnect is a business that does not value business relationships and is ungrateful for the small companies that make them revenue. The poorest experience I have ever had in business. Usually, I am wonderful to deal with, but their policies are so ridiculous and unethical that I was an unfortunate pain to their employees and kept apologizing.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

CardConnect is integrated with our platform, allowing us to accept payments in our stores. This enables integrated payments, refunds, and voids, among other things. Our shops range in size from modest mom-and-pop shops to major franchises. While the types of establishments vary, they include everything from classic consignment shops to antique malls and retail outlets.

Pros

  • Monitoring payments.
  • For payment, there is an online user interface.
  • Creating pre-made personalized billing bundles.

Cons

  • Getting expenses from CardConnect into EMR requires a lot of manual effort.
  • My existing EMR does not work nicely with it.

Likelihood to Recommend

CardConnect is well suited for smaller firms or those who have a CRM or EMR that interfaces with CardConnect, allowing data to flow effortlessly into the primary customer database. As a result, we're transitioning to a POS that works in tandem with our EMR, which will greatly simplify our billing operations.

Cons

  • Does not integrate well with my current EMR.
  • Significant manual labor involved with copying charges from CardConnect into EMR.
  • Sometimes will allow charges that don’t associate purchased products clearly enough resulting in more manual lookups and even misappropriated charges.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for lower volume businesses or businesses or get have a CRM or EMR that integrates with CardConnect so the data seamlessly flows into the main customer database. For this reason, we are switching to a POS that integrates with our EMR which will significantly streamline our billing processes.

CardConnect - Gets the job done

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We integrate with CardConnect to allow for payment capturing through our software for our stores. This allows for integrated payments, returns, voids, etc. Our stores range in size from small mom and pops to larger chains. While the type of store ranges from traditional consignment to antique malls and retail stores.

Pros

  • Initial setup of EMVs with customers
  • Same day communication

Cons

  • Would be nice to have a dedicated rep for a group of customers for better familiarity with our use case
  • Shorter phone tree - it's easy to get lost in all the options

Likelihood to Recommend

CardConnect is a good option for payment capture, but getting less experienced stores up and running takes significant effort compared to other processors we use. This seems to be due to poor communication since there isn't a dedicated rep familiar with the use case like we have with other processors.
