Use Cases and Deployment Scope

1) Assess the process relevance in the revised business environment and it maturity

2) Identify the interlinking tasks (E2E) in a comprehensive way including the input and output along with the constraints applicable for the each task

3) Started with O2C side of it and later got extended to P2P, R2R and H2R (assets)

Key aspects that were looked were clearly defining the KPAs and KPIs

Process mapping and task definitions
Defining the end to end visibility for the process
Identify and associate the related KPIs
Applicable constraints for the tasks with in the processes

Cons

Intuitive process modelling
Design and data validations
Comprehensiveness in process management
For an ERP implementation- especially a greenfield implementation
Would prefer to improve a bit more on collaboration

Cons

Log reporting on Celonis internally (pipeline monitoring, notification monitoring)
Automation to certain third party applications
Automated documentation of data pool (extraction, scripts, parameters) and dashboards (views, knowledge models etc.)

Well suited for process analysis; deep dive into what you are doing. Less suited for heavy automation use cases; in our experience other tools are more suited for this.

Celonis is used in all major processes in my organization to get transparency and to analyse and optimize the process. Celonis is also used in achieving process standardization, Proactive alerts, deviation flagging, Business Executive dashboarding and is now an integral part of our organization. We are specifically focusing on cross functional points of the process, which are usually the bottlenecks. We are also now focussing on mapping these end-to-end processes to achieve further improvements.

Pros

Helps to obtain a clear understanding of the process execution by bringing utmost transparency in the process
Provides functionalities to act proactively to avoid delays and further causes of process deviations and bottlenecks
Aids to standardize end-to-end processes.
Functionality to connect to multiple systems in the IT Architecture and hence achieve efficient and fluid process executions.

Cons

Documentation of the features in Celonis needs to updated regularly
Customizable low-code setup for standard Organizational processes
Better support for End-to-End process documentation

Celonis caters different needs of different business involved in the process. It is extremely useful for Process Analysts to delve into the process for identifying root cause of Pain points. It supports to get an overview of key metrics for Management. It helps to standardize and redesign processes. Identify dependencies of a single entity and aids to understand the impact of an entirely different vertical onto to the current focus of analysis. The Object Centric visualizations and Process Adherence Manager gives a great digital twin of the processes in the Organization.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Celonis for our Inventory Management process. Our main problem, which triggered us to look into Inventory Management, was high inventory levels, as many manufacturing companies in the industry face. We identified that planning parameters in our plants are irregularly updated, often based on limited data and experience, which leads to excess stock. We built a Material Insights solution using Celonis, customized it to our process, and focused primarily on identifying materials where we can reduce safety parameters. We then received recommendations from Celonis on safety parameters based on statistical analysis. Ultimately, this contributes to reducing excess stock and increasing free cash flow and warehousing capacity. In addition to this, we also examine orders that can be canceled and released, conduct premium freight analysis to assess supplier behavior, and review claim costs.

Being customer centric, listening needs of customers very well and taking quick actions.
Providing out of the box analyses that makes start easy.

Cons

We had to build a custom dashboard for tracking value realization, as the transformation center was minimal in scope. For a very value-focused company, this area can be improved, which would be incredibly beneficial.
The current licensing model sometimes limits the ambitious value goals, as we can't experiment with building analyses in different areas without a long-term license for that process.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think Celonis works really well in business cases that are well-built. Before starting anything, if the business case is set up properly, including business problem, solution proposition, and target value, then it's easier to know what to expect & what to do. Celonis excels at supporting the business in the beginning, providing a thorough understanding of the business case. I don't think building to see what's wrong and doing an exploration work well. In addition, it was to be a good base for improvement opportunities, not just a regular dashboard to see transparency.

We have identified several use cases for our partnership with Celonis. Currently, we are primarily focused on the Procure-to-Pay workspace. We are identifying opportunities to reduce duplicate payments, improve processing speed, and ensure the accuracy of our work.

Identify opportunities in current processes
Assist with improvement efforts to close gaps or augment performance
User interface to the technology

Cons

Can be expensive in some areas (sustainability) without clear ROI

Likelihood to Recommend

Celonis clearly excels in the financial area. Procure-to-pay. Accounts Receivable. Payment Processing. We see potential for Celonis to help in more complex areas such as our supply chain, warehousing, and distribution spaces. However, it is much more involved and requires a very different approach than the typical process mapping.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Celonis as our calculation method for our IFRS 9 annual and monthly calculation. Celonis obtains our overdue balances directly from our account system. It then uses certain logics to perform standard exclusions as per our requirements and then, using code, our calculation logic has been built in to return our amount to be adjusted. It provides us the flexibility to also upload a config file to override certain calculations where we know IFRS 9 requires updates such as insolvencies etc.

Pros

Flexibility at the start of our POC phase.
Great communication throughout build phase.
Quick feedback and error handling.

Cons

Detail documentation throughout the process to aid handover notes.

Likelihood to Recommend

The ability to download the information and then perform basic calculations is a really good use case, but it only scratches the surface. It could be used to perform detailed comparisons during migration between systems, as well as KPI measurements and analysis.

User friendly UI on new views screen.
Numerous integrations with other companies and marketplace.
Quick data load times

Cons

Process mining UI -> variant explorer is hard to follow -> understanding what the start/end steps are in the variants is not straight forward
Action flows are not as easy to implement as shown and require self learning
When publishing a view, default shouldn't be to publish all views
