Citrix Gateway has been our unified remote access solution and we have it deployed across all departments. The tool makes it possible for our hybrid workforce to work from any location while ensuring business resources such as desktops, apps, and data are secure. The MFA and SSO helps boost security when our remote teams are accessing company resources. Citrix Gateway makes it possible for remote teams to work efficiently.

Pros

It provides great features for remote access.
It provides a unified access and SSO which simplifies user experience.
It is a highly scalable and flexible solution.
Comprehensive monitoring makes it easy to analyze session performance.
It supports VPN-less access which is a plus - teams can access company resources remotely without the need to use a VPN.

Cons

I have experienced authentication failures severally.
Session disconnection instances need to be improved.

It is one tool that makes remote work possible, and it ensures our teams can work effectively no matter their location. In addition, we use Citrix Gateway for access control, allowing teams to access company resources through a single interface for security.

Comes with a dependable MFA feature.
Unified access point - users can access all application using a single interface.

Cons

We have experienced data leakages and this needs to be addressed.
The tool suffers critical vulnerabilities when it comes to authentication.

Our teams use Citrix Gateway for remote access, and the tool ensures employees can access apps and business resources from anywhere. In addition, Citrix Gateway is a great single sign-on solution for our virtual applications, web applications, and desktops. It is an instrumental tool for our hybrid teams, thanks to Zero Trust Access, and it also helps boost application performance.

With my company we use Citrix gateway to help connect our calls with our system. This helps auto populate the correct patient to help ensure we are taking care of our patients as fast as wr can. Citrix is a fast and effective way to help our team take calls to help schedule appts and assist them with daily needs. Thank you Citrix!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our company's people across multiple countries access applications such as Spectra and related apps (i.e. Aura, Workflow, PF) in order to set up suppliers, submit Purchase Orders (POs), submit expense claims, and further detailed work as required by our Finance team/People & Culture. Beyond our Finance team's daily use, the entire company accesses Citrix typically minimum on a monthly basis to submit their expense claims, though many of our people work with POs, so access Citrix much more than this. It is a part of our typical onboarding and new new laptop set up processes globally, since it is so widely used.

One-size-fits-all accessibility for different app assignment needs
Very clean and easy to understand settings page
Quick Access favourites page
Ability to link webpages as well as applications from the admin end for selected users

Cons

Opening of apps - it often crashes. My coworker even told me a trick to 'spam click' the app when it shows a certain error to be able to bypass it to get the app open.
Ability to customize from a user point of view - hiding apps, customizing visual, etc.
Desktop version never remaining signed in (MacBook) - much easier to just access via web.
After new laptop/new hire logs into the web version of Citrix and downloads the launcher, the launcher should then auto-fill the URL rather than requesting it again.
Citrix seems to reset at 12:00pm EST every day, given 15 minute reminder before shutting down the app. It would be great if this timer could be visible in the corner, or simply scheduled for different times depending on regions as it's quite disruptive.

Likelihood to Recommend

Citrix is used by everyone in our Company globally across departments, and provides a standardized, very clean, rarely-changing launchpad for all the common apps your team may need. It connects to Okta for necessary security. From my understanding, app assignment to users from the back end is also very simple.

That being said, while the lack of changes over the years helps with guides and familiarity, Citrix is not without it's flaws that could use updating - apps refusing to open, scheduled app crashing at 12:00pm EST every day, setup being not as streamlined as it could be for new users, ease of use lacking on the desktop app, lack of accessible guides/quick walkthrough of what the platform is upon first login, etc.

Overall, I look forward to improvements for Citrix, though overall I appreciate it's simplicity leading to visual ease of navigation.

We use Citrix Netscaler Gateway as a platform for secure external access to virtualized applications in our work environment. Citrix Netscaler Gateway provide secure and balanced access from outside our hospital to our users to the main healthcare applications and virtualized machines. It is one more layer of security in addition to the firewall.

Pros

Provides level 4 load balancing to deliver better performance for applications and services
WAF (application), proxy and VPN firewall support
Monitor the performance of applications even in real time to improve the UX

Cons

Configuration console is unfriendly
A good knowledge of the product is necessary for its production

Likelihood to Recommend

The best usage scenario for Citrix Netscaler Gateway is in enterprises with a high volume of telecommuting users or in situations where the user needs to access certain applications from anywhere. In our case as a hospital, we need our doctors to access the medical records of the patients and be able to carry out any required action, with a high level of security and with a certain agility.

We use Citrix as one of our main tools to book hotel reservations, check our metrics, and a lot more. It is a very convenient, useful, and important tool to us. I highly recommend this tool very usefully. I really like it and very user-friendly. I have been using it for many years now.

Pros

Booking tool.
Tool for checking our metrics.
Notepad
We open cisco using Citrix.
We can check our CSAT here too.
Browser tool.

Cons

I suggest make it more faster because sometimes its lagging but not all the time.
When it comes to Notepad I suggest having options for the size of fonts, and color of fonts, to make it look nicer.
I suggest making it more user-friendly, and more features so that users can perfectly maximize this tool.

Citrix Gateway is also a great browser or alternate browser if you need a more search engine for your research and other important things to know. It is perfect for your browsing experience and I highly recommend Citrix to my colleagues and friends. For me, this tool is really useful and I believe to others too.

Citrix Gateway is one of our main tool. It allows us to open applications that we mainly use for work purposes. It provides a server wherein we enhance our availability and experience. As a user, it is very helpful as it provides an interface wherein we see data and apps that we use for work.

Pros

Allows us to open Guest Connect which we use to check availability, meeting space and etc.,
Allows us to open sensitive information, links, attachments etc., that can't be open outside Citrix.
Gives us the benefit of using Citrix that enhance security and user experience.

Cons

One main opportunity that I want to be improved is to lessen the lag and errors in using Citrix.
We wish to reduce support request with self service password resets.
We would also want to lessen authentication to involve less administration.

We were using Citrix as we taking calls before. We use citrix to open Guest Connect which we use for hotel reservation. There was a time wherein we're almost done with the reservation and just have to confirm if it's been created. However, for some reason the Citrix crashed and the guest was waiting on the line for 5 mins. We were unable to close the sale and gave a callback rather.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Citrix Gateway is being used in our company with open tools which are business-related. When the tools started to shut down, I just did troubleshooting.

Pros

Open Google Chrome.
Open Notepad.
Open Internet Explorer.

Cons

It should not log you out automatically.
It should work faster than normal speed.
It should work on all browsers.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is inappropriate to use if you have to watch videos.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Most of the organization is using Citrix Gateway. It is nice to be able to access things from your desktop, including folders from restricted drives, but the one problem I am having is accessing programs/software from my desktop. I had IT look at it, and they could not correct the issue through Citrix. I would have to log in through different software. The software I could not access is BNA's Interactive Forms.

Pros

Access folders from restricted drives from outside the office
Access desktop, view desktop from outside the office
Save documents to virtually any folder that you access in the office, outside the office

Cons

Cannot use Microsoft TEAMS through Citrix Gateway. This is used daily and is a big problem.
Cannot access software on computer in the office, outside of the office
Have to use other programs other than Citrix Gateway to access BNA Interactive Forms software and Microsoft TEAMS.

Likelihood to Recommend

Citrix Gateway is great to access folders that are saved on restricted drives when you are outside of the office. Citrix Gateway cannot be used for Microsoft Teams, which is used daily while working virtually. Citrix cannot be used for BNA Interactive Forms.
