Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It’s really good from a SEO point of view as you have more options for log file analysts with adding proxy’s as opposed to cms such as hubspot software.

Pros

  • Technical elements of SEO
  • Great visual dashboard
  • Great CS

Cons

  • It’s a bit infer in terms of visuals but do the job

Likelihood to Recommend

I think it is good for users that already know what they are doing. People need a technical background but that’s fine as it is usually the case anyway. Could be more user friendly

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

For the main use case, we use Cloudflare as our DNS manager and main proxy for the most important domains and subdomains.

For secondary cases we use it to build reverse proxies for some "embedded" apps and to handle specific use cases like sitemap generation, connecting to GEO monitors and others

Pros

  • DNS Management
  • DDoS prevention
  • Low latency implementations

Cons

  • Interacting with logs usually requires setting up an extraction, doing simple queries on them could be out-of-the-box
  • AI crawlers/bots monitoring can also use a better UX and allow for better drill downs
  • It could have better tutorials for things like storage and workers

Likelihood to Recommend

Being a proxy for APIs subdomains or main sites because it helps a lot preventing DDoS attacks or quickly banning/blocking potentially dangerous requests. It's a really helpful and quick tool to stop possible attacks

Using their workers product helps a lot when building quick prototypes of adding data to incoming requests or building small sites

Cloudflare - the one stop shop for all your content delivery dreams

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

From the very first website that we put out in production to the websites we build to this day, Cloudflare has been the backbone that we have been able to build on and scale. We have been able to use the service to secure our customers' websites while also providing them extremely quick load times that often result in better conversion. The services we most use are their DNS, the firewall and the ARGO tunnel.

Pros

  • Provides an extremely robust DNS service
  • A great caching CDN in the non-traditional sense
  • A powerful and effective firewall that keeps all bad actors at bay

Cons

  • The company could lower onboarding prices
  • A more modern UI (in line with Android's Material Design) would help
  • Simpler interface instead of never ending menus

I started using the free plan with Cloudflare about 9 years ago. Over the years I have hosted multiple websites and upgraded to the paid plan on quite a few of those websites because of their robust network that blocks/eliminates all spam. Never has it been easier to just plug in and let a great service do the work for you.Cloudflare also provides a great many sets of rules that we can use to customize and shape our traffic for increased protection from malicious traffic that always eats up precious bandwidth. With Cloudflare spreading out defense all over the world, we do not have to worry about our servers going doing in case of an attack. In testing, it increases our traffic capability by 102x while only spending 1.2x the cost, which for us is a game-changer; not having to worry about increasing costs while maintaining optimum performance.

We use Cloudflare for it's security and performance measures. Cloudflare's security features help keep our sites secure and see where the security events are happening. Cloudflare's caching help us greatly increase the speed of our sites, and gives us the customization options that we need to keep things running smoothly.

Pros

  • Security
  • Caching
  • Analytics and log tracking

Cons

  • Customer service reply time
  • Billing options
  • Page speed testing

Likelihood to Recommend

Cloudflare works well as security measure that gives peace of mind without needing to work too hard to get it functioning well. It provides great tools to customize the security experience as well. This is all the same for the caching tools as well. They have a lot of built in tools that make using the caching easy right out of the box, but they provide the customization options to get things just right for your site.

As good as advertised

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it as our main public DNS host. We have several public facing services, hundreds of domains, and they all are hosted here.

Pros

  • Fast
  • Secure
  • Trusted

Cons

  • Clarity in pricing
  • More control over the human check

Likelihood to Recommend

It does a great job in the few aspects we are using it for currently. We feel safer having it handle our DNS records, and moving everything over was easy. Getting reports on traffic and malicious attempts at attacking our web presence is also really cool to see. I can't think of any reason to not use them considering how each product is separated out to suit your business needs, and the free tier is great if you only need some basics.

Cloudflare is a rocket in the field of web security and speed

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Cloudflare to mitigate risk, as a DNS provider, domain registrar and a Content Delivery Network. Those are the main services that we see no competitor offering compared to Cloudflare, their service is top of the line. All 200+ websites we maintain run through their DNS and other services.

Pros

  • DNS checking upon transfers, easy DNS setup
  • The best in class DNS config menu
  • Risk mitigation and DDOS protection
  • Cheap registrar for global TLD's

Cons

  • Login speed – they use their own security during login, but I know for a fact that those can be implemented in a way that let's customers log in faster thay they do it themselves
  • Sometimes I cannot find the DNS section in the menu, there are two similar views which get confused
  • More country-level TLD's could be available

Likelihood to Recommend

It's best for DNS settings, management, config, resolution. Speedy, easy to use and understand dashboard. Fast changes. Magic DNS. All the bells and whistles. Literally you cannot find any better service. Cloudflare is the boss. Cheap domains from a secure source, always working service. CDN that is free and very easy to use.

Growing Stack of Performant and Affordable Developer Tools

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Cloudflare's services for domain name registration, DNS management, caching, DDOS protection, object storage, and live streaming. Cloudflare helps protect our business applications and platforms from attacks or even just general negligence of users. Their object storage and domain name registration are extremely affordable - and we are in the process of migrating to both.

Pros

  • Domain Name Registration
  • DNS Management
  • Object Storage

Cons

  • Domain name registration could allow for different nameservers
  • Object storage could have a web ui for applying bucket and object policies
  • Object storage doesn't seem to allow for private buckets to have individual public objects

Likelihood to Recommend

Cloudflare is the most affordable domain name registration platform available. Recently i renewed a group of domains for around 30% less than they would have been at my previous registrar.

The DNS management is great as well. The caching helps on sites where you know the client will upload large images or not manage the site in a way that is performant.
