Easy to use and understand UX tool

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Crazy Egg as a secondary web analytics tool, alongside Google Analytics, to give us the ability to see heat mapping and scroll measures, as well as give us easy A/B testing opportunities in a way that offers minimal impact to our main website build. Google Analytics offers excellent audience data, but lacks UX data.

Pros

  • Heatmapping
  • A/B Testing
  • Scroll mapping

Cons

  • Complex A/B testing scenarios
  • Audience demographic information
  • Conversion tracking

Likelihood to Recommend

Crazy Egg is extremely well suited to basic A/B testing and analysis of where your website is performing well or falling short. It does come at a relatively high cost for very small organizations, and it might fall short on integrations or complex testing scenarios for large organizations, but for mid-sized organizations looking to make improvements it is an excellent fit.

Excellent tool to analyse user behavior

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Crazy Egg report helps us to identify the user interaction on our website. We have configured Heatmap on all our web pages. Through this report, we could identify the performance of each content and the user's interest. We do modify the pages based on this report and improved the user experience on our website.

Pros

  • It is easy to set up, manage and track the user's behavior on our website.
  • Helps us to improve user experience.
  • Using this tool, we could increase our website engagement and conversion rate.

Cons

  • It would be great if they share high level reporting
  • Expecting native app option

Likelihood to Recommend

Easy to set up, and helps us to find the user behavior on our site and improve the conversion rate. The heatmap shows us where our users drop off on our site, which specific CTA gains more clicks, and which content should be modified to make our visitors stay on our site and make them purchase our product.

Competitive Pricing, hard to know what we're paying for, though

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Crazy Egg has been a legacy tool that we've used, but I don't think we've used it to its fullest capabilities. With that said, we've used it to view heat maps of traffic (and we share those images in reports) and we've more recently used the session recording tool to observe users interact with our website in real-time.

Pros

  • Price is competitive
  • A/B testing

Cons

  • Session recording is not very reliable.
  • Hard to target some of the features, too broad.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you're looking to pair this with other analytics tools and you're price sensitive, this tool might work for you. Unfortunately, for what we need, I'm not sure it's the right tool for us alone. The session recording feature, which I have personally been using more, is not really giving a good sense of what users are doing. Sometimes I'm watching sessions and I see nothing, just a blank screen. Alone, it's not enough to give me a good picture. The price is competitive, though, and I'm sure if we were pairing it with our A/B testing tools, this would be helpful.

Great Tool for Growing Businesses

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We leveraged Crazy Egg to get a more in-depth idea of how customers were engaging with our site and identify what they were most interested in, beyond just clicks. The platform helped us map areas of interest including what areas of the page customers remained on the longest and what their mouse hovered over for the longest period of time.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Simple implementation
  • Reliable tracking

Cons

  • Overly simple for technical users.
  • Less advanced for enterprises.
  • Lack of integrations with other analytics tools.

Likelihood to Recommend

If your company is newer to analytics and you are just starting to learn more about your customers and how they interact with your site, Crazy Egg is a great digital tool to get you started. It helps you learn more about what’s working on your site and what can be improved.

Cool tool in improving your User Experience

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We wanted to see how our website was being used. Crazy Egg has a lot of features to discover how users are interacting with the elements on the webpage. The heatmap shows where the users are clicking the most. The Rage Click shows elements that are inactive but looks like elements that should be clickable. There is a survey option that is simple and easy to set up for direct feedback from the users. A/B testing is available to see which version is a better solution. Crazy Egg does a good job of revealing user interaction and is especially useful when you want to upgrade your website for a better user experience.

Pros

  • heat maps
  • recordings
  • surveys
  • page time loads

Cons

  • price
  • adding entire website to snapshots

Likelihood to Recommend

Crazy Egg is good for gaining insights into where users are clicking and knowing the load time of your page. The WordPress plugin is really easy to use. Other websites will require adding some JavaScript Code. It is a little tedious if want to add all the pages on your website. You have a limited number of pages you can add before you have to upgrade to a higher package. Single Page Applications take more steps to track and create a snapshot.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Crazy Egg helps us to visualize the areas of our website where users click the most. It helps us to know what users are interested in most on our website. Crazy Egg helps us to know where our users come from. It also gives us an idea of what section of our website is being interacted with most by our users. This is crucial business intelligence required to improve the effectiveness of our website.

Pros

  • It generates heatmaps based on what users clicked on the website. Helps you with a visual representation of the user's actions.
  • It generates a scroll map checking how far users scroll on pages and when they lose interest in the content.
  • It generates Overlay and Confetti to track a website's operation.
  • Takes a screenshot of the URL, collects all the clicks on it, and then projects it as a heatmap on the screenshot. This makes it easier to understand.

Cons

  • Sometimes the snapshots record fewer visits as compared to another page variant even when traffic is evenly distributed between the two.
  • Crazy Egg has limited heatmap visualizations.
  • Need to delete snapshots after it reaches the max limit. It happens fast if you are taking both mobile and desktop views of pages.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you as a Website owner, Web developer, or Web Designer wants to know what section of your website is being liked by people you can use Crazy Egg software. If also want to know what content or page is relevant to people and what product or service is catching people's attention then Crazy Egg helps you with a heatmap tool, and scroll tool to help you understand the incoming traffic using a visual representation. If you require to fully automate your social media campaigns then it may not be very relevant to use as there are other software that caters to it. They do not have the functionality of Crazy Egg built in them.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We attend from Crazy Egg to help us focus optimization on high valuable pages/zones in pages. We often develop hundreds of web components and functionality that customers don't like or ignore. Crazy Egg was there to get a real ROI by discarding useless zones and positioning important features where users clicking

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Crazy Egg within our ecomm department to track click behavior of our customers. Great for qualitative data collection!

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Crazy Egg is currently used by my organization to understand visitor interactivity with newly released landing pages. We combined this data with our analytics data to start telling a more wholesome story with data. We often time triangulate Crazy Egg, Google Analytics, and survey data to understand areas of improvement and guidance for A/B testing.

Pros

  • Easy implementation on site.
  • Easy to understand visual reporting.
  • Easy (and fast) set up.
  • Great UX and UI within the tool.

Cons

  • I wish there was more customer support to lean on for test ideas and how to use the tool to our advantage. I'm sure there is a ton of value we haven't unlocked yet.
  • Sometimes the test set up for different devices is a little clunky.
  • On our sites, we have a ton of pop-ups. Despite checking off the "omit pop-ups" on the test set up, we still capture the pop up on the page's image which can cover up a ton of retail space to analyze.

Likelihood to Recommend

Crazy Egg is a great tool for those starting out with heatmap and clickmap tools. It has a user-friendly interface with extremely easy set up that can be implemented via Google Tag Manager instead of tapping into a developer resource. The visual reporting is easy to understand with the ability to filter by traffic source so that you can segment your analysis.
