Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Lead scoring is an automated marketing tool used by sales and marketing teams to determine qualified leads. Scores are attached to each lead based on their interest level in products or services. Lead scoring models differ from company to company. We assign points through lead-scoring best practices. What are the criteria used for lead-scoring clients? We use various actions to contribute to a lead's score, including the number of pages visited and searches performed on your site, whether or not prospects downloaded any resources from your site, and if they got to your site via an email click-through. These and other factors make up a lead scoring model.

Pros

  • Leverage real data and analytics to inform your strategy.
  • Consider setting up more than one lead scoring model.
  • Focus on high-value website actions and engagements.
  • Don't assign points for every email open.
  • Use negative attributes/scoring to avoid inflated scores.

Cons

  • \New channels, mediums and metrics influencing the customer journey are introduced every day.
  • Committing to a lead scoring model that doesn't dynamically adjust as your customers do, will produce inaccuracies.
  • Without manually adjusting on a regular basis, miscalculations won't be addressed in a timely manner.

You'll want to use the conversion rate as your baseline for the lead scoring calculation. Build Attributes from High-Quality Converted Customers. Calculate the Scoring for Each Attribute. CVENT Lead Scoring takes the leg work out of prioritizing RFPs. I love that you can filter all your leads by so many different metrics. The highest amount of sleeping rooms, or revenue, etc. I really like their slogan of putting the "fun" back into the funnel, I posted it in our office!

Pros

  • Data Filtering!
  • Prioritize leads that are important to me.
  • Saves me time!

Cons

  • I think it would be cool if we could customize our color scheme.

For me, I'm in a college town so when we have a tournament we get flooded with RFPs from schools for the same dates. Lead Scoring allows me to see which of the leads is better suited for our needs over those dates. For example, a school that only wants to stay for one night because they are only an hour away is less desirable than a school that has to fly in and needs to stay for 4 nights!

Easy, Functional, Reliable

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I work primarily with groups 50 rooms on peak and under, so the quantity of these leads is far greater than larger sized groups. Because of this, I get many a day, which is where Lead Scoring comes into play. As Cvent notes, Lead Scoring provides you with a streamlined process for evaluating, managing, and responding to the RFPs you receive, which for me is extremely valuable. This is being used across my department and it helps to qualify different leads. This helps me prioritize and better go after strong versus weak pieces of business.

Pros

  • Helps me follow up with groups.
  • Prioritizes business.
  • Helps my time management.

Cons

  • Not everyone knows about it.
  • Can be slow sometimes.

Likelihood to Recommend

Cvent Lead Scoring is definitely well suited for someone handling large groups of business at once. It becomes harder to qualify and maintain all the details of each lead, so having this tool really helps. It tracks the group's history, and the group's peak nights, room information, meeting space information, revenue, etc., which is super helpful.

My organization uses Cvent Event Management as a portal to both promote our hotel and its event space as well as to communicate with event planners and assist them in booking. It is great for both big and small events and gatherings. Great system for our sales department to be utilizing.

Pros

  • Customer service is top notch!
  • Extremely customizable.
  • Registration.
  • Allowed planners to discover locations they may not have otherwise found.

Cons

  • Streamlining all of the click-through that needs to be done.
  • The reporting aspect.
  • Cost for upgrades.

In my field, Cvent in very important to track and keep up with planners. It also allows for everything to be stored in one spot. For smaller hotels/venues right outside of bigger cities or specific destinations, it is a wonderful way to get the name out and possibly get it on a planner's radar.
