Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We're an IT services provider company. We manage all technical operations from the Service Desk to project management in TP.

Pros

  • Helps managers create and organize work tasks.
  • Helps workers manage their own and their assigned tasks.
  • Helps managers to visualize progress in a graphic way.

Cons

  • Lack of information regarding comments submitted from Requests. It does not save the notification options configured when logging a comment.
  • People complain that the main search option is not user-friendly.
  • The navigation tree would benefit from a tool to track the number of clicks on each branch. It is impossible to know which views or reports people are actually using.
  • IA tools support.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is highly recommended for agile teams and less so for hierarchical teams. It is very convenient for executing the work, but for analyzing information and tracking progress, it is very powerful but slightly more difficult to use.

Cons

  • UI is terrible
  • roadmapping capabilities when JIRA not used
  • over complicated UI

Likelihood to Recommend

Tool has ability to do a lot, but in our experience, the UI gets in way of adoptability and user experience. I think we Would have better buy -in and adoption with better UI overall. Too clunky, Can get overwhelming with number of folders. In my opinion, Not intuitive

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Targetprocess for my own organization and advocate its use to my customers for overall project planning and better awareness for resources, programs, investments and portfolios available for a particular initiative that is being managed or deployed by a BU. The scope ranges from a large scale global initiative to a smaller project

Pros

  • availability of resources
  • portfolio management
  • Helping with time management

Cons

  • AI integration
  • User experience
  • customer support

Likelihood to Recommend

Targetprocess is best used when there is program or initiative that is being kicked off. Its less appropriate when when its inflight or towards the end of its implementation. the earlier you can take advantage of Targetprocess's features and functionality in program the better and more effective it is for the initiative

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use the Targetprocess for centralized intake and workflow management and we do the integrations with the Jira and build intake forms, the product helps us to track our requests all at one place. One of the primary business problems it solves is ensuring transparency and alignment between the cross functional teams. It helps us to keep things organized in well mannered way.

Pros

  • Dashboards
  • Workforce management
  • Reporting
  • Intake form requests

Cons

  • Epics are automatically get assigned to the sprints based on the latest user story, It is because of the featurestoggle is enabled, That need to gets changed and make it applicable based on the portfolio level not at global level.

Likelihood to Recommend

We use Targetprocess to streamline intake workflows, track project life cycle and manage portfolio planning across our enterprise initiatives, Targetprocess is well suited for the agile based program tracking

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are currently using Apptio and are looking into Targetprocess to take over our own product that we use to track labor and forecast but we want to be able to keep it within centralized system to take it Enterprise wide.

Pros

  • Labor capitlization
  • Vendor management
  • Reporting
  • Connecting to Apptio

Cons

  • UX/UI Design
  • Tailoring to company needs

Likelihood to Recommend

I think it's well suited for a company where the portfolio is a little smaller than it is at RCG>

A review as a relatively new adopter of IBM Targetprocess

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We've recently adopted IBM Targetprocess as our Enterprise Portfolio Management solution to help us with our view of strategy to execution. As an Organisation we recently moved away from one tooling supplier so hopefully can provide some objectivity to this review. We were keen to give visibility and transparency of our Change portfolio to become more data driven and facilitate the right conversations.

Pros

  • The UI is more intuitive than other suppliers and that is consistent feedback from our user population
  • We've really focused in on and leveraged the power of the integrations with our other SaaS solutions to create that version of the truth and avoidance of unnecessary and wasteful duplication of effort.
  • Dashboards are useful and spinning up new reports is relatively straightforward with basic knowledge of the tooling.
  • Being able to share the view to non users within the Organisation is a useful benefit.
  • I like the ability to be able assess data points within many of the visuals to simply validate and interrogate the data.

Cons

  • Having the ability to only open 3 windows at a time is an unnecessary constraint and hope IBM will get this on the change road map.
  • Excited to see what AI capabilities will be developed over time to create further Portfolio management efficiencies.
  • We're currently navigating support options which appear to differ by Apptio product so maybe room to create some consistency there as it's a little confusing.
  • If you use an implementation partner be sure to focus on knowledge transfer. It was important to us to be in control of the keys however you may have to drive this.

Likelihood to Recommend

IBM Targetprocess compares really positively top other solutions within the Market that I have used. For instance, with one supplier we were unsuccessful with integration for years, with IBM Targetprocess we'd proved connection and integration within a couple of months.
