Useful tools for data validation and protection

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

ObservePoint helped in many ways like protecting our data, ensuring data quality, and optimizing customer experiences. The best part is their website audit. The insight of their website audit is very helpful for any website business. They solve huge problems of individual auditing of each page. They can audit 500 pages for free at a time.

Pros

  • Optimize customer experience
  • Data protection
  • Data Tracking
  • Website Audit

Cons

  • API Configuration
  • Easy Navigation
  • Data Loading Time

Likelihood to Recommend

ObservePoint is a great tool for automating page testing and standardizing campaigns to observe accurate customer insights. You can identify customer mapping journey. They also help in data protection and insights which are very important and essential these days. They should work more on easy interface designs. Overall, it is the best.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

ObservePoint scans my site automatically to QA our data collection. Individually auditing each page of our site or application for accurate data collection is nearly impossible and not an efficient use of resources and also sending me alerts for any irregularities, thus this product has been really very helpful. Looking forward to keeping using it.

Pros

  • It Validates the deployment and accuracy of analytics and marketing technologies and data.
  • Technology Governance feature ensures your data collection tools and processes are executing as planned.
  • Privacy Compliance feature performs automated audits to identify all the tech collecting data on our site and ensures compliance to digital standards and government regulations for customer data

Cons

  • The web audit feature can be made better, as the errors which it recognises, takes time
  • Jouneys feature can also be worked on, they need to allow us to configure items as per our requirement
  • The rules feature, only shows limited failures, I would appreciate if the developers can work on that too

Likelihood to Recommend

I use rules feature to Test tags, variables, and values to confirm each matches a specific RegEx patterns. It has been well suited for me. Combining filters and conditions to test our tags with a high level of detail. they can surely work more on - Fire based on URL, status code, or tag type by using filters.

Great Audits for better implementations.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

This helps us keep a pulse on our current implementation. It helps us gauge how things are set up and when there is an issue we can get to that to more accurately track the real actions on the site.

Pros

  • Analytics Audit
  • Tag Audit
  • Specific Variable Audits
  • Organized Output of the datasets for actionable next steps.

Cons

  • Some output could be better organized or given more ways to slice and dice the output.

Likelihood to Recommend

If clients need a good platform to audit their site tags ObservePoint really delivers. It gives quite a bit of insight as you build out your audits and reports. It easily helps you find the gaps where code changes may have affected the implementation of the data layer as the site has changed since the last implementation.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use ObservePoint by department depending on the specific focus, for example, mostly digital analytics and tagging. It helps us catch tagging errors before they become an issue for our business, also helps us better understand user journey on the website and make recommendations. The combination of technical review and user engagement review is helpful, especially when used with other analytics tools.

Pros

  • Custom tagging is very important when you need specific tags tailored to your website needs.
  • The dashboards are great, user friendly and you can share them with coworkers easily.

Cons

  • Page details, although interesting, are not very useful as the data is too granular and not possible to integrate with other analytics data for insights.
  • Some of the custom tagging may be a little complicated, so sometimes we need an engineer or an ObservePoint tech to help us out.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's a great tool to catch errors in tagging that otherwise would be missed, also human errors in tracking implementation. It's a good tool to help understand how your users interact with the website, for example when completing a purchase, and check if your parameters are successfully firing as your user goes through the process.

ObservePoint is critical to your MarTech stack

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

ObservePoint is used in several departments. For me, ObservePoint ensures that our website is loading everything that should be loading, and that online processes/paths are working properly. It automatically checks my site so I can be confident my analytics codes are collecting the correct data.

Pros

  • Tag presence validation - ensuring all tags are where they should be
  • Journey mapping - ensuring that critical user paths are up and running, and alerting you if they ever break

Cons

  • Report organization - reports can be difficult to find

Likelihood to Recommend

Really, if you are running any type of testing or analytics on your website, you should be using ObservePoint to ensure all your tags are working like they should.

Shows Potential but Terrible UI Makes it Difficult to get Good ROI

Rating: 2 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

[I] recommended and implemented ObservePoint for a client to verify that the tags were working after site updates.

Pros

  • Covers a wide range of tags.
  • Can easily audit site to locate pages missing tags or have obvious tag issues.
  • Can create custom simulations for more detailed tag validation.

Cons

  • UI for simulations is really terrible. Very hard to set up simulations due to lack of things like xpath to target page elements as well as see what the simulation sees when there are problems.
  • Finding and fixing tag validation errors in simulations again is just a nightmare. Promised updates to the UI to fix this problem have been promised for months but still no improvements.
  • Due to the lack of updates to correct issues and bugs we just haven't gotten nearly the value from the product we expected.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's hard to recommend the product until they fix all the glaring issues. Right now it just feels like still in beta testing stages.

Puts web analytics team on front foot!

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

ObservePoint is being used for tag auditing, quality assurance and data integrity.

Pros

  • Tag discovery
  • Tag auditing
  • Testing and automated scanning of lower environments prior to release
  • Watching competitors

Cons

  • It can't scan past server side password boxes which is really problematic
  • Its capabilities for journey simulation are somewhat limited
  • It tends to over-report problems leaving you to manually create a laundry list for dev

Likelihood to Recommend

ObservePoint is well suited to tagging audits and keeping an eye on tags and providing an essential alerting mechanism should something break / snap during a development release. This happens all the time, often going unnoticed for many weeks, sometimes months. Since it is is impossible to step into a Bill and Ted time machine and go back and get your data, base collection should be monitored.

ObservePoint is a business critical solution for identifying actionable insight with web site tagging.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

This is a partnered solution that we use to produce our Data Quality Assessment (powered by ObservePoint) Service Offering. We use ObservePoint to audit our customers' web sites then output the audit to a text file that we analyze to generate a Tag Audit Assessment document/deliverable.

Pros

  • The UI for ObservePoint is intuitive and robust. This makes training new engineers and using the product easy and productive.
  • All Audit exports are formatted as tab delimited text files making the data easy to analyze and manipulate in a Spreadsheet or database.
  • The list of tag vendors that are discoverable is comprehensive making it easy to interrogate most any tagging implementation.
  • Standard reporting within the UI is robust and easy to consume.

Cons

  • I would like to see more of the administrative aspects of the UI to allow for sortable lists such as the list of Users and Properties.
  • Auditing highly secure site content can be problematic depending on the method of authentication.

Likelihood to Recommend

ObservePoint is an exceptional resource for auditing web sites, public content, and secure customer journeys.
