Vasion Print (PrinterLogic) - unjam your print experience

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

All of our printers are pushed out via Vasion Print (PrinterLogic). Users do not need to manually add printers but rather get them automatically installed on their device based on their set location.

Pros

  • Install printers automatically
  • Manage drivers
  • Allow mobility and easy switching of printers based on the users location

Cons

  • Setting drivers can be tricky sometimes especially if we are trying to downgrade to a certain version
  • Some HP printers (older ones) have had trouble but we intend to update those soon.
  • Pushing out the software via Entra - we had some initial difficulties.

Likelihood to Recommend

Great for users that frequently travel between offices. Users can log into their device and get the "local" printer installed based on their subnet. Alternatively, users can choose to send their print to their folder to be accessed on whichever printer they choose. It does this securely which is great for folks in healthcare settings.

Tired of printer issues Give Vasion Print a try

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have replaced our Print Servers entirely with Vasion Print. A lot of the issues we've had in the past have completely vasnished and any tickets we used to get on printing issues have lessed by a very large precentage. Having the ability to deploy printers to devices and users has been wonderful as well.

Pros

  • Printer installs are simple and easy to manage
  • Drivers are easier to update and manage
  • Works for devices other than just Windows

Cons

  • Making mass changes on the site and not having to download a csv first and then upload would be handy, but isn't all that inconvenient.

Likelihood to Recommend

Implementation when moving from on site print servers to Vasion Print was super easy and very simple to do. Seems well suited for any sized organization that doesn't want to have to manage print servers any longer. Other than adding and retireing printers from the system many of our other printer issues have largely gone away. Unless you are a very small organization with only a few printers I can't think of a situation where Vasion Print wouldn't be helpful.

Great Print Management Tool

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Vasion Print as a Print Management service for locations spanning multiple states and regions. This is especially helpful in the setup, maintaining and troubleshooting printer issues. I especially love that users can add printers across the organization if they travel to another location all with an interface that is understandable for the everyday user.

Pros

  • Manage all Printers and Queues
  • Can view and add users from Azure and Active Directory
  • Easily add the application and security to machines.

Cons

  • Error indication for users when jobs don't print.
  • More timely support for issues that are escalation.
  • Mobile app to manage issues.

Likelihood to Recommend

Vasion Print works well for mid to large size organizations who manage print in multiple sites. The initial setup may a little involved, but once set up it is a great tool to work with all printers in one platform. It is easy to add and remove printers and allows users to add the printers they need from wherever they are in the organization.

Easy to use secure printing solution

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Vasion Print on all our copiers to secure our printing and Personally Identifiable Information. We make every employee create a pin and use that to login to the copier to print their jobs. This eliminates the chance of prints being intercepted or left unattended at copiers. It also integrates nicely with our current identity management.

Pros

  • Secure
  • Easy for end users
  • Easy for us to manage

Cons

  • An easier way to reinstall the client on a copier

Likelihood to Recommend

Any scenario that involves sensitive information would be appropriate for Vasion Print

IT Efficiency Gains

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for printer management across multiple physical locations. Vasion Print allows us much greater efficiency and ease of use compared to other software, and is a lot easier for the IT staff to support. Before Vasion Print our company used a multitude of different software's that were incohesive and a nightmare to maintain, centralizing around this software unlocks extra time for IT to spend on more critical tasks.

Pros

  • Multi location management
  • Ease of use for IT
  • Document management for manufacturing floor

Cons

  • Tier 2+ Support
  • End user tutorials

Likelihood to Recommend

Vasion Print has helped us with creating a single source of print logic and management across multiple manufacturing floors in different locations. Having multiple manufacturing floors using the exact same software that is easy to setup and troubleshoot lets our IT staff become experts in printer management, instead of before where there was a lot of tribal knowledge and re-learning quirks of different softwares.

Vasion Print Made Printing Easy

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We operate in a multi-office environment with remote employees, and before Vasion Print, print management was a nightmare and it also simplifies complex printing environments and makes everything smoother, we use the printer driver repository function daily, especially in our academic departments.

Pros

  • i love that Vasion Print lets employees set themselves up fast, which keeps the workflow smooth and avoids bottlenecks
  • it gave us a centralized platform to manage all our printers remotely, without needing onsite support
  • the way it tracks usage helped us redistribute devices to meet demand and cut toner and paper waste

Cons

  • the setup takes a really long time
  • support is slow to respond

Likelihood to Recommend

I will recommend Vasion Print if you’re dealing with a lot of printers and remote users—it made our lives easier and it takes the IT team out of basic setups and lets users handle things on their own. Honestly, it solved a bunch of annoying issues we used to deal with daily.

Great for End Users and for IT Teams

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Vasion Print to manage all our printers across different offices and remote setups and it’s been especially useful for our billing and academic departments where fast and reliable printing matters. We also rely on it heavily for printer driver repositories and IP-based printer setups.

Pros

  • i don’t need to deal with print servers anymore, which saves time and hassle
  • employees can just set themselves up, which means fewer support tickets
  • usage tracking gave us real data to reassign printers smarter and cut waste

Cons

  • the updates are not very frequent, sometimes I have to wait longer than I’d expect for new improvements or bugfixes
  • the design of the interface is not very well arranged and many times some of the specific settings get lost in the crowd
  • Vasion Print support is slow to respond and mostly works over email, which isn’t great when you need things resolved fast

Likelihood to Recommend

If your environment is big or remote-heavy, it just works better than anything else I’ve tried and it is especially useful for reducing support dependency and wasted time.

Simplify printer management and enhance security with Vasion Print

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It has helped us to manage and streamline our printing infrastructure across multiple locations. It’s also the best since we can easily address security concerns by ensuring sensitive documents are only released at the printer by only authotized users. Also its support team is topnotch and always ready to solve any problem.

Pros

  • There’s ease of adding other printers
  • It minimise the risk of sensitive client information being left on the printer unattended.
  • It also has easy to understand interface and connects easily with other tools

Cons

  • It had difficulty integrating a few older printers into the system.
  • More robust alerting for printer errors or job failures would be helpful for proactive troubleshooting.

Likelihood to Recommend

It’s well suited as it centralizes print management without requiring on site servers.

Also it’s less appropriate since it’s advanced features maybe excessive for small teams that only need basic printing.

The best product with a great price

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Vasion Print (formerly Printer Logic) as a replacement for Microsoft's Windows Print Server. Since deploying, the solution has been great! We deploy a printer one time, then make sure the agent is installed on all computers, and the printer is automatically mapped to all appropriate computers. We recently learned that there are custom configurations for how often computers check in to the server for updates. This has allowed us to make sure all computers are up to date with the latest drivers and configuration standards desired.

Pros

  • Stable platform
  • Customizable configuration settings
  • Reasonable cost

Cons

  • Better documentation

Likelihood to Recommend

We evaluated four other options, before deciding on Vasion Print (formerly Printer Logic). The decision was easy when comparing them against their competitors' offerings. They have better features for a lower cost. Their deployment team was very helpful answering all of our questions and providing guidance on best practices. The post deployment support is better than most companies we deal with; they're always happy to help and respond quickly.

Great for End-User Installation

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to allow end-users an easy way to install printers they are allowed to use. It also helps us track usage across departments, which we are required to do for financial auditing purposes. Our campus uses a variety of devices and Vasion Print works well with all manufactures, even Apple and Microsoft devices.

Pros

  • Installation of printers by the end-user
  • Easy identification of printer locations
  • Automatic deployment of printers based on device hostname

Cons

  • CPA compatibility with Kyocera copiers
  • Technical support
  • More robust reporting, better ways to group users by department
  • Ability to choose the specific version of CPA client installed on each device

Likelihood to Recommend

Works well in environments where you may want users to install their own printers and they need to easily identify which printers are located near their area. In my experience, not great to use the CPA client though if you have a lot of Kyocera copiers, but works really well with Konica Minolta.
