Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Procore to manage all aspects of the construction process on the projects we manage. It helps keep everyone involved in these projects on the same page, using the same data, in an easy to use interface.

Pros

  • Single pane of glass for data.
  • Integrates with many 3rd party systems.
  • Easy user setup
  • Works in the cloud and on many mobile devices.

Cons

  • The ability to add custom fields to the user diretory
  • Reporting across tools in Procore could be improved

Likelihood to Recommend

Any size GC would be well equipped to use Procore. Smaller subcontractors may not benefit as much if they are already invited to larger GC's Procore instance and thus not have need of their own.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am the main project manager for a high end interior and exterior millwork fabricator. We specialize in anything woodworking and serve high end clients in Palm Beach and Jupiter Florida. I use Procore to organize everything. I use it to manage submittals, drawings, RFI's, and approvals during the drawing process. Procore helps me keep all parties involved and accountable to staying on track for timing and for all schedules. I use Procore everyday and it helps me not have things fall through the cracks as much as they normally would without Procore.

Pros

  • Manage Drawings and Approvals
  • Maintaining open communication between parties on the project
  • Organize all of the information for the project- details and specs
  • Clearly keep the details accurate and up to date

Cons

  • the mark up function could be better and more accurate
  • when there are changes- it should be very obvious- big RED letters or something standing out from the rest of the information
  • somehow add actual pictures with dimensions that you can use to reference and show specific rooms

Likelihood to Recommend

Procore has allowed me to stay on top of mostly all things going on in the job. It helps me with to do tasks or showing me what is in the red and needs action. I use Procore daily along with Innergy on the internal side of our company. Between the 2 there is a lot of back and forth. If they could somehow be integrated together. That would be truly helpful.

We are a general contractor that uses Procore for all aspects of the construction process. We use it for bidding, project management, contractor contracts, prime owner contracts, invoicing, including punch lists and close out. This software gives us the tools and organizational needs to ensure that we are keeping tabs on KPIs and our PMs on task with current issues and push us to the best problem solving

Pros

  • Subcontracts
  • Budget
  • Bidding
  • File storage

Cons

  • Drawing Markups
  • Submittal Markups
  • Saving on screens

Likelihood to Recommend

Procore Pay has proven highly effective for managing conditional and unconditional waivers, ACH payments, and tracking contract commitments. Your team has successfully implemented it for new projects, streamlining payment workflows and improving transparency. This has helped us keep better records for payments and tracking of lien waivers. This alone i would recommend Procore. This help us manage more work at a high standard

Architects Procore Evaluation

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am an architect working on multiple projects under construction with a construction budget of $10M - $50M. Procore is a powerful document management tool that streamlines distribution and tracking of documents such as submittals, RFIs, and Meeting Minutes. It works best when all stakeholders are involved, which sadly is not always the case, so I still have to track things separately. The product is improving all the time, but I really do not like the graphic interface for meeting minutes which are difficult to read and navigation between issues covered in the meeting is difficult and suffers from lost information if each issue is not saved every time you switch issues.

Pros

  • Distribution of documents to project stakeholders

Cons

  • Meeting Minutes live auto save would solve the problem with notes not being saved.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is best when instituted at the Enterprise Level and used by everyone on all projects. Unfortunately, project owners will typically not adopt it for their enterprise due to high cost.

Engineers appreciate it

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Knowing a contractor is using Procore to manage the construction site is always helpful as an engineer. It lets me know that all of my RFIs and questions will be on one site and they will all come through in predictable formats and methods. I know that sub contractors will have access to the documents quickly and will be working off the same set of plans as every one else.

Pros

  • RFI creation and management
  • Document tracking
  • Product Submission and conversations

Cons

  • RFIs that result in another RFI being created still results in a logistical mess
  • Tracking conversations and finding meeting minutes can be cumbersome
  • I'd love to see better markup of construction documents

Likelihood to Recommend

For construction projects where a design team, owner, and contractor are working together, especially on items that have a months long or years long schedule this is an amazing product. I could see it being overkill for short projects or projects with minimal design team interface. Things like restriping a parking lot or painting a wall that are more maintenance may not benefit from the software. But new construction where you want to make sure that architects and engineers are all aware of the on-site conditions this really helps us.

Great program for Consultants

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am a consultant who reviews submittals, RFIs, etc. for projects in Procore. Procore makes managing paperwork for projects easier. It minimizes actual paper and most document review and approvals can be done electronically. The approvals go from one person to the next and the flow of the paperwork is maintained.

Biggest problem is slow downs in the program when uploading approved submittals and other documents.

Pros

  • Submittal review
  • Document storage
  • Listing of personnel involved in a project

Cons

  • Upload speeds
  • Files and documents could be better organized. But that is on the GC

Likelihood to Recommend

Reviewing RFIs, COs, and submittals is centralized and the flow of the reviews can be followed. The people required to perform the reviews are named Procore and the flow of who performed the reviews are shown. It makes keeping track of the reviews easy. I also like the confirmation emails that are sent for my records.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Procore mainly to keep our excavation projects organized and running smoothly. It helps us manage everything from pre-construction planning to daily field work and closeout. Most of our jobs involve site prep for commercial and residential builds, so having one place to track progress, documents, and communication is helpful

Pros

  • Drawings tool
  • Submittals
  • RFI's
  • Specifications
  • Punchlist / Closeout

Cons

  • Submittals - applying templates
  • Financial tools - confusing to use

Likelihood to Recommend

Procore is great for keeping things organized, especially on larger jobs where there are a lot of moving parts. It helps track who’s responsible for what with its “ball in court” feature, so nothing slips through the cracks. You also get daily reminders for overdue items from subcontractors, which keeps everyone accountable and on schedule.

Good not great but the sky is the limit

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I manage commercial solar projects for an owner/operator. The projects are located across the US, on various terrains (and rooftops). They range from 300kw to 20MW so there is a lot of customizing necessary in every project. Procore allows the project team to interface with the site reporting and project information on a day to day basis with accuracy and efficiency. Procore has been especially helpful at identifying problems before they become significant enough to affect progress. Our contractors and QA/QC can upload photos as observations or in their reporting so that every scope gets enough attention and oversight.

Pros

  • Tracking observations from origin through remediation and up to closeout
  • Procore Drive- Utilizing this app for submittal creation and schedule creation/editing
  • Meeting minutes

Cons

  • I'd like to be able to create a "parent project" for portfolios with multiple projects, so that certain updates can be applied to "all" or "some." Being able to process a contractor's bill for work across multiple projects as 1 invoice would literally cut my tedious pencil-pushing work by up to 87% in some cases if it were possible.
  • Meetings tool was improved recently but opened up new headaches for me and my colleagues. We'd like to find ways where action items can be identified within the body of the meeting and extracted so that we can track them from one week to the next with greater accountability.
  • I would like to be able to "create task" for someone from just about every page on Procore. These could be related to all sorts of scopes, big and small, and would especially help senior managers and company resources like estimators keep track of the long list of projects for which they play a role

Likelihood to Recommend

Procore understands how no two projects are identical and the number of stakeholders and scopes can vary drastically depending on the type of project. I like being able to get daily updates from site and having a go-to place to initiate RFI's and Observations. I don't like how few relationships are built between tools at this time so that I have to click around often to review photos, then correspond formally with the contractor (not comments), delegate tasks, and track meeting minutes.
